Just to make a point, Microsoft sent out the RC version of Windows 7 for Beta testing using the Bit torrent client.
Which is a good legal use of the BT system, another example would include X3 patches, where you can download directly from the egosoft servers, from mirrors, or use a torrent link. Point of post, I don't think anyone here is argueing the legallity of BT itself, just the legal nature of certain to
loved diablo....but mentioning space siege along side a game like diablo is wrong raven.... DS1, good with no replay. DS2 excellent with good replay. SS...ugh, suffice to say if anyone used that as a reason for pirating games before buying cause they bought that, the big corperations would have nothing on the little man ^^ That being said, worst case scenario, it's like spaceseige and it's free. Best case, well I'm dreaming of 2 UT2K4 modes, invasio
Arg..update needs to hurry up and download (i only just started the DL), because i fear i'm at risk of looking like an idiot talking here...so feel free to ignore me if this is wrong:P From reading it sounds like by using a combat point to attack, you move foward AND attack, effectively giving you 2 actions instead of 1). Perhaps movement could be better tied (read balanced) into it's effect on your combat speed usage, or better yet, simply make movement a once
i muuuuuust has post!!! ahh...that's betterer[e digicons]:sheep:[/e]
Being able to build on improvements not next to cities again is a happy site, certainly removes the need to city spam just to make sure you get every map improvement you want. when you say monster sizing though, do you mean that the monsters will be better scaled based on their strength?
I was running around with my sov completing every quest i could in a vain attempt to get strong enough to go kill some of the nasty world spawns, and happened to complete the Master Quest by complete accident. Obviously my first thought was "wow...wait, What?" The problem for me is that i did it all within 1 turn, and the reasoning behind the game winning quest just felt like fluff. Insert random channeler with enough essense to share and in doing so make me so powerful

Silly observation, but pirated games can often be less compatible than their paid for and patched counterparts, or worse, carry little presents inside the crack code wait...i replied...i'm feed the troll...noooooo
What do you expect me to do? Post a big wall of text reply? Become angry at you and thus feed the troll in you?
i think jafo's out trolled you if thats your response, besides, he's already said a heap of arguments against piracy and the effect it has on companies. I think piracy is likely to hurt the small companies alot more than the big ones. Huge corperations have the funding to better buffer them against piracy. small niche indie devs with 1 rel
thanks Boogie you know you got a good build coming out when people are so hungry for it they start dreaming they've gotten hold of the build:D
ack...gave me a heart attack thinking it was out and my impulse had decided that i did not deserve to play
mmmm, tasty...looking foward to it:D
Just thought i would link a article related to everything that's been discussed. It's to do with the 'Humble indie bundle' charity thing that did a while ago and the piracy related to it http://kotaku.com/5533615/another-view-of-video-game-piracy I agree that pirating isn't a good thing, but what always bothers me is the way the big corperations go about trying to get rid of it. egaads...go go post not posting:P thanks for that vid:), really fun to listen to the back and forth about the buildings, as well as whats right and wrong. Doubly looking foward to the next release now^^
YAY...that forest drake can go chase the little spiders around rather than my sov:D The fact that the world can grow (or regrow) more dangerous and interact when your not around would make the game more fun, and give you incentive to get out there before the world grows without you
wrong on so many levels LOL ....my sides hurt now...:P
chances are if your carrying said heavy items, you may not have the intelligence to have enough mana to cast. On a side note, if you have requirements for items, could you not also have intelligence/wisdom requirements for some spells I say this though actually supporting not have any requirements at all, the fact that you can either spec yourself to be a combat guy or mage guy is restrictive in itself without adding more redundant requirements
If your in the cloth map view and have the game set to 'No Scaling', everything moves REALLY slow. Usually when i'm in the cloth map view i prefer to have everything move around at a reasonable speed, it's when i'm zoomed in i like to see everything walk at a realistic pace. This point probably falls into the suggestion pile rather the issue pile. As a suggestion could we have a cloth map movement speed slider, so if we're at cloth map view, we can choose whether a forest dr
Not so much of a gameplay issue, just an eye candy one There's a few spots in the map where pieces of terrain don't quiet match together, or outrightly are wrong. Not to big of an issue really just putting it out there with the rest
804 Graphics After a whie monsters and city improvements disappear, and no amount of scrolling out to furthest zoom and waiting for a minute fixes it. It makes it had to build cities when you can't see what you've previously built, but this is a known issue atm. Whats worse is the following image A forest drake with a blinking cloak of inv
I've had a number of auto resolve battles happen without any screen appearing telling me they're happening. And i'm not meaning units off screen fighting, i mean i tell my sov who i have selected to go fight a mob, and he just walks over the square and nothing appears to happen. But if i watch the xp bar it increased when i told him to move. Also found that if he got hurt during the fight, his health is only updated (whether i deselect him then reselect or not) when he eithe
I know i'm breaking taboo posting 2 bugs in one thread, but not even sure if the first is even an issue or going to be one from reading other posts frogboy has made. Had a compatability issue with Bittorrent one night, if BT was running, i couldn't open the game, it simply froze at the splash screen. If i opened BT while the game was running, it froze producing this dump file. http://www.ltbb.org/images/Gwak
Firstly the quote is from frogboy in the secrets reveiled thread, but my postrelates to here to and not beta 4:P
(the above is the beta 2-B map btw, after the beta 2 series, we move to the random maps).
Will the 2B map spawn iron mines (even in rare amounts)? (also understanding i shouldn't be able to build on them since the civ tech is diabled but just wondering if we'll see them) and sooooo looking foward to try
The problem as I see it is if I want to build a seafaring based empire, I may never even get that portion of the tech tree started as it currently random at the end of the research period. You could invest tier after tier and maybe get fisheries and Harbors, then never get to Navies and beyond. In an island scenario this would particularly suck.
stuff like fisheries and harbors isn't that that rare, it's a yellow tech, and they show up fairly constantly.&
