I was under the impression that the strongest capital ship (not sure on what basis exactly that choice is made) automatically becomes the one with the fleet insignia.
It definitely seems like that's what's happening (for some unclear definition of "strongest"). Is that intended behavior though? If so, there should definitely be a way to turn it off. It's also pretty annoying when you have a fleet of capital ships that wer

I've noticed a couple of bugs relating to fleet leaders that may or may not be related to each other. I've been mostly playing as Vasari so I'm not 100% sure if they affect the other two factions as well, but I believe they do. 1) When I select a fleet with multiple capital ships, the ship I've set as the fleet leader is often not the ship that ends up selected (ie, who's abilities I can see on the lower bar in the UI). Instead, it seems that the game sometimes decides to choose a dif
It seems like earlier in development, Vasari had the ability to deploy phase stabilizers anywhere using a ship item. Due to this, the Antorak's Stabilize Phase Space ability was redundant, and it was replaced with the new Phase Restoration ability. However, the ability to deploy phase stabilizers using a ship item was removed at some point, presumably for balance reasons. This now leaves Vasari with a pretty glaring gap in their mobility though: the ability to return to a friendly gra
Fouthing. It's especially noticeable on the Vasari carrier cruisers, since they're equipped with some point defense weapons (presumably to offset the fact that Vasari don't have fighters). It's extremely annoying that my fleet of squishy carrier cruisers keep trying to drive to the other side of the gravity well to plink away at the enemy fleet with their little PD guns.
Stardock has gone from a company that released the "Gamer's Bill of Rights" to one that uses Steam. I'm disappointed.
I love Sins of a Solar Empire, and think it is the best strategy game to come out in a LONG time. I have bought every expansion as it came out, and have been looking forward to Rebellion eagerly. However, I was worried when I saw today that the beta was released only on Steam. I, for personal reasons, cannot use Steam, and I will not buy the game if I am required to use Steam in order to install it. Therefore I would like to know if Rebellion will require Steam (even if you buy the CD) and if
Is there a way to make a buff that slows down the build rate of enemy starbases?
Quoting chaos_forge, reply 243is there any way for a ship to spread culture? Yes, look over the BuffCannonShellPsi.entity for the CultureSpread buff. is there any way to have ships spread culture?
So, I was trying to make a mod, and once I finished I put it in the Diplomacy mod folder and start Sins. The game loads the mod without giving a minidump, but when I try to play, the changes the mod is supposed to make (switching around the abilities for a few capital ships) aren't there. It's like I never activated the mod. Does anyone have any guesses as to what the problem could be?
i agree, the Mavin sounds amazing

You could, but you'd lose a lot of customers. Maybe in another year or so once XP has mor

I for one would like to see interceptor strikecraft as a counter to bombers (even though strikecraft have not been mentioned at all in relation to Rebellion)
From what I understand, a discount will be for Trinity owners. will there also be a discount for the people who have both expansions but got them separately? oops forgot how to quote
but what i really wanna see is a new interceptor strikecraft class . . .
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUST PRE-ORDER NOW.
actually, every race has a high-tier upgrade to the number of targets, but only the vasari starbase has the extra upgrade to weapons this advantage is evened out in the other starbases by other advatages the advent starbase, for example, is able to host more squadrons than the other starbases
one problem ive found that no one else seems to have mentioned is that there is no option to create fleets for the envoy cruiser
