I totally agree with Kestrel. But the execution is just poor, you guys planned this out all wrong. What you need to do is make solid netcode so people get excited about the game and keep excited until release and then BAM. 1 month after release hit us with the current netcode and take a vacation to Hawaii with all your earnings. It is the perfect plan and you can even nickname each other guys from Oceans 11 and constantly be giving each other thumbs ups and even b
I think changing things back to the old warscore is more of an artificial way to solve a balance issue that isn't about the gameplay but just that, a balance issue. Changing the gameplay doesn't seem to be the right solution to a balance problem. If you have a beef with that gameplay keep taht seperate. To balance this it would be much better to leave gameplay and just give the one person greater income or better warscore increase when they are holding the flags it doesn't m
Switching the war score back to the way it was isn't more simplistic? I don't understand what is frustrating about having a lot to do other than losing so I guess I just assumed. I mean if you can't do it all then you just don't, focus on what you can do. Of course you may not win but that shouldn't matter with what you are saying. I guess I just don't see how having more options is frustrating other than just losing because you can't control them all.
Yeah drexion I think a lot of this has to do with smaller games so it is A LOT easier to keep track of the opposing heroes. Yeah but there are hugley varying opinions out there I mean on another thread Orlean said he was already overwhelmed with the things to do during gameplay so I guess I hope we can find a happy medium. I think if the skills or the characters are tweaked and their skill trees made more complex the game will grow a lot.
I guess I just don't understand that. I am by no means someone who only play a game to win and wants to be super competitive so don't think that is the reason why we don't want to revert to the more primitive game. It is simply because if you can just sit there and do everything after playing the game only a few times then there is something wrong. I am sorry but being a casual gamer has NOTHING to do with the simplicity of the game. You can play a game perfectly fine
Alright well there is obviously a gross misunderstanding of what I meant when I said what I did. There are two different things being argued here, the pace of the game and the skill level. I think everyone should be able to play of course but what I am saying is that adding in options that won't do much but take depth out of the game seem pointless to me. I understand if you want to play a slower paced game of demigod then play with high health on towers or other settings al
I undoubtly stole this from dota but why change a good thing. I mean that is what makes mirana of of the most fun heroes to play. I don't know would be nice to see more aimed spells so there is more of an accuracy element and not just always point and click which gets dull sometimes.
This just occured to me but what if you had to aim snipe and it got a little damage boost. I think this would make it a lot more interesting and fun for both opponents and regulus because then opponents will struggle to get behind creeps or juke while regulus will have to be practiced to get good with snipe. To me it seems like it would be a lot of fun and it also can cancel out the coordination snipe problem with all regulus teams.
Yeah moogle, I remember back a while ago I made a post about longetivity and they pretty much crapped on that idea. Orlean was talking about something to make maps with a "maya" but some other guy said that program is like a thousand dollars and extremely complex. I don't know I mean you would hope they would put the extra effort in but to be honest it isn't really to their advantage because they want you to buy their next game too.
I am all for more options but I just don't understand why people want to dumb down the game more. I don't know maybe that isn't how I play games but if you want to relax with a game play audiosurf. If you want to play a up tempo, competitive and complex game then play demigod. I don't know I guess even dota has an easy mode but I just would hate to see demigod turn into a game where the convention is just the easiest way to play.
Drexion I would just like to point out that rook isn't just this easy hero like you think, there are a lot of different things that can be done with his towers. For example you could even go your build and just get one level of tower and put it up so your teammates can teleport right to where you are. There are a lot of strategical things you haven't considered yet. or even just massing light towers by your own towers then focusing on another flag. Eating your own
I don't think the new beta is boring at all. In fact i think the betas have progressively gotten better unsurprisingly. The whole point of the game is to be the "Counterstrike of Rts" so it is going to be fast paced and not relaxing. That is just the nature of the game, to say that is was better when the game was simpler doesn't seem to make sense to me. Maybe not all the ideas are balanced so far but from a players perspective it is exciting to see that new features a
Frogboy this game has a chance because you guys added more end of level skills. My suggestions seems to have taken effect so now my opinion is that the game is great.
Yeah dude to tell you the truth I don't think there will be much if any of this in this game. I think there will be a singleplayer that will have some of these kinds of elements but will be mostly based on the core gameplay. Demigod as far as I have known isn't based on times spent playing but rather on skill. You can't just get gear in demigod by playing it for a long time. There are insentives to play in the form of favor items that can be bought ith favor points ear
This argument seems pointless. If you don't like the game then go ahead and post that you don't like the game or don't post at all. The devs just won't consider that advice. Not everyone is going to like it so there is no point in flaming each other over opinions because plenty of people do like it. Talk about what the beta is really about guys and lets not focus and make popular a topic that has become completely negative.
Items dont' build on top of each other like dota really but there are about the same or even more items in demigod so it isn't like they are slacking. Also i have heard the devs talking about how demigod already has a set budget for updates to be made after release. So there will for sure be some and I think they said they will be content updates and not just to fix bugs so we should be in good shape there.
As one who has played dota frequentely and udnerstands its mechanics well I would have to say at first yes you will be disappointed. WHen you first but this game your reaction will probably be similar to most people who are used to dota. This of course is only at first, as you play more and more and experience the changes that are being made I know at least I have gained a whole lot more faith in what demigod can become. I was one of those people who thought demigod really s

I sure hope so, I agree the 2v2 with humans are MUCH better than with computers but I still think it is a little slow but I am willing to accept that that is because games are small at the moment. Only time will tell but in the mean time lets just hope. Take the willingness to push the game back if it still needs work as a good omen for this game because as they have said they won't be pressured by sending the game out at a certain time but having an inferior product. I thin
Yeah to some degree I agree with you innociv the gameplay just seems like it has some basic problems, maybe it is because it is slow in general or something else I can't really put my finger on it but I too don't think the solution is just 5 maps and 10 game modes that will make this game special. I think there needs to be a LOT of thought put into what can be done with generals but not only that, with assassins. I know this is an RTS and I don't mean to bash on sins but wow that
Well, I think we know where all the negativity really comes from and that is disappointment so far. I mean I am not saying I am completely disappointed or that I like demigod any less but if any of you still don't understand where jinx and a lot of other people are coming from when they wonder why it isn't as good as dota you have to realize what was pretty much promised in the game description. When it says inspired by dota people feel it should be similar to dota but better beca
Me too. -Drexion
I don't necessarily think this is a bad idea but there are a lot of questions about it because it wiill make balance a lot harder if there is anything more than just appearence changes based on team. Even then I don't know how substantial those changes and their effect would be to warrant the amount of work it takes to complete them. Before you completely rule this out just think of the achievements in call of duty and how you can unlock items and the do it again and again, that i
Good basic idea, I think there can be argument about the nitty gritty but overall seems like a good way to try to go. The little thing I would add is that maybe the closer the general is to his units within the radius the more boosted stats they get. If the general attack the same units as a friendly unit is attacking they get bonuses. I don't know there are so many possibilities with this idea, good one.
