I think you should go ahead and just let everyone know that the game isn't going to be released August 2010. Seeing how ambitious you are about the game (which is a good thing IMO), I wouldn't advertise anything sooner than Q4 2010. A game like this needs LOTS of time for polish. 6 months can make a huge difference (just look at Demigod, 6 more months in development would have done wonders for the game).

Looks great so far. I'm not sure how you're going to finish the game and polish it up properly by August 2010 though *hint delay the release hint*.
The UI and mainpage could use a bit more tweaking, but I think with time most people will adapt to the new layout. It's nice to see Impulse is moving forward (which hopefully will force Steam to do likewise).
I really like the new layout of the homepage. I hope that, with this update, Ready to Play, and the support of more developers, Impulse can become a real contender to Steam. There's really no reason why digital content should be priced the same as retail content since the middleman is removed, so I'm hoping that competition will result in price wars in the future.
What Impulse has been missing is some sort of killer feature that truly sets it apart from the competition (namely, Steam). With each revision Impulse has gotten better and better, but if someone asked me why use Impulse over Steam I would simply say because it has some exclusive games. Ready to Play coupled with the Phase 4 update will allow me to offer more substantial reasons to try out this excellent digital distribution platform.
The Sins bundle for $20 and Demigod for $20 are especially enticing deals. Too bad I already have both.
Useful and user friendly UI certainly, but I'm perfectly content with CCleaner and and Tweakguides.com. This is very handy for people who don't have the know how or patience for tweaking though, Ill recommend it to friends and family.
It's amazing how you continue to support a game this old. Combined with the Demigod coupon you just sent out, I'm seriously considering getting the Ultimate edition!
"Improved pathfinding in regards to travelling between gravity wells." Thanks for this!
What you guys really need to focus on, after all the connectivity and most egregious bugs are fixed, is replay support. This alone will inject some much needed life into the game and help the community grow.
@CaesarsGhost: I would hardly call that CoolerMaster a "flimsy PoS", it's decent for the price. I have an Antec Nine Hundred myself, but I prefer some of Antec's other cases (I'd love to have a P193 one day). Also, is there any reason to spend more than $100 on a motherboard? Seems like a waste to me...
1. Continue working on improving connectivity and connection features 2. Balance adjustments/miscellaneous fixes 3. Get a demo out 4. Replays and clan support 5. More Demigods and maps 6. Offer occasional weekend sales (say 25% or even 50% off) 7. Reap the fruit of your labors
Nice. I think I can finally begin recommending the game to friends...
That's very impressive, especially considering the fact that a good portion of sales probably came from Impulse (I mysefl bought the game from Impulse). After the botched launch I wasn't expecting the game to do this well. Congrats Stardock and GPG!
These blog posts which you and Frogboy have been posting are what made me buy the game. Knowing that Demigod is backed up by a dedicated publisher makes me able to completely dismiss the sub-par review scores since I know that over time the game will improve. Keep up the great works guys, and take a break this weekend! You've earned it!
Okay, thanks for the advice.
The only problem I have is that whenever I "exit" Impulse, there's still a process running in the background. This isn't a huge problem, but it is mildly annoying, especially considering how other digital distribution software such as Steam fully exit.
Try and get an E8400 and a 9600GT or better for a gaming computer. Also, 2GB of RAM is probably sufficient unless you're going with a 64-bit OS.
