When I play advent I try and play to their strengths which are the extra fighter/bomber in their carriers and culture boosts. I don't really play online and go very defensive which this works well for offline. If I see the computer going heavy carriers make only fighters to tear their fighters up. I agree with InfiniteVoid by going very diverse and don't just mass alot of the same thing. It seems to work very well for the most part if you play offline vs computers doin
What we really need is equality among skills. I need a reason to NOT pick hammerslam + rook-roll. Of course, this will come with balance testing (hopefully).
You hit the nail on the head. As long as every skill is a viable choice in combinations then the diversity is there. So someone who want to play Rook as a demigod hunter can pick the hammer+rook roll vs somone who wants play base defense going towers
The level cap is 20 and alot of the chars have 33+ skills to choose from so picking 20/33 skills leads to many possible combinatins. The diversity is alot more than people think since not only do you have to choose which skills you will not spec into but the order in which you pick your skills. 2 people that pick the exact same build could do it in a different order. I would love to see more demigods in the future but the current selection is pretty divese even if you play
Currently they do not give any xp or gold. I believe I have seen this mentioned a few times by stardock in forums and irc channel.
I agree, its about 1/8 tries I can get into a game for me so I usually just host, and I have played with a player here a player there if they are lucky in connecting to me. It's so hit and miss...
Its not the regen... its the fact that it has 125 million hp [e digicons][/e]
Thats really funny [e digicons][/e] They must really be jealous of the marza....
It would be cool if one of the generals has some totem or ability like: warcry - minions around the general burst into frenzy dealing 50% more damage for 5 seconds. Stuff like this to make the general feel like he is leading an army to victory [e digicons]:D[/e] . More abilities to enhance the battlefield or support other assassins. Example: Life/mana/damage wards, auras, temporary portal buffs, temporary summons, the list goes on and on. Would be ni
We need a dev to see either this post or the other one. My suggestion is if we keep on replying than it will become a hot topic and they'll come and see what the fuss is about.
Lets hope so [e digicons][/e]
How can we make the generals feel more like a general and less like an assassin with canon fodder: Have the special minion for each general meaningful. Some should have more weaker minions. Others should have 1 or 2 powerful ones. Give the minions abilities - Maybe have something like a decay for the oaks spirits which does a hp degen aura. Anything to make the minons feel more than just fodder. If you want to get more RTS like give abilities t
Yep impulse is all you should need to get it on your computer.
Making this a mod is not to difficult it will just take a little time 1) Download the latest Forge Tools 2) Unzip the tools rar file 3) Locate the \ForgeTools1.1\ReferenceData\GameInfo folder and inspect the entity files you want to modify for your mod. 4) Create a folder that you want your mod to be called and copy the GameInfo folder to the mod path on your computer. I have xp it
It sounds like everyone agrees that mines should be used in smaller numbers to get the job done rather than having bucket loads slowing down all our computers late game. To compensate for the smaller numbers do you guys think that they should have increased blast radius? I know if they explode they do crazy damage already but the range seems to indicate you have to literally be on top of them to blow up.
how does this make new ships not have auto join fleet enabled when built.
I see what you mean. It would appear that each ship has either auto join fleet on by default and others dont. The one ship that comes to mind that has auto join fleet not enabled by default is the advent domina subjugator as well as the scout and colony ships. Its a shame that its not an option from the menus to select which ships
Thats gona give the programmers a hell of a time to find [e digicons]X|[/e] . What map by the way?
This shouldnt be a problem for them to output the achievements into binary or serialize them so its not readable in any way. I wouldnt worry about it unless it stays this way lol. I was looking at alot of the lua files as well and noticed the entire demigod story is in the strings file as well as all the acheivement names and their variables.
The current system of capturing their flag portal that spawns guys is much cooler since you can get your own spawns to come out of it rather than make your spawns have more hp.
Yes, on each of your fleets click on the tactics managment icon and then right click fleet management and you wont see the spinning thingy anymore indicating that auto fleet join is turned off. Simple, no modding what so ever.
1) Agree 2) Agree. Compared to the othe 2 races its quite expensive. 3) I think they should all have a limit either setup before the game (game creator chooses a number) or just a hard number so the computer cant go crazy and build thousands of mines in one planet. 4) I dont really think there should be a time limit because there would be to much babysitting on them and it would be very annoying to see a fleet warp in and all your mines have expired because
So I have played a few games now with each of the races to check out the mines they have for each race. The problem alot of people seem to be having is that the computer, especially the vasari will mine up a planet in the 1000's (not hundreds, thousands). I have seen this in a few games now and the performance can take a dip. There definitly should be a hard limit as to how many mines you should be able to put in a gravity well. Something in the hundreds not thousands might
I think that most people who have played Dota would agree that they do not want Demigod to be exactly like Dota and have all the same stuff because if thats the case were just gona go play dota. Demigod has the chance to really bring new strategic value and differences that will set it appart. I think that as long as each demigod has many possible ways to play them, and the items get fleshed out, it will be fantastic. A game like this is going to take some time to get everyt
Alot of people here have stated they dislike the item recipies and it does appar to be more of a engine limitation than an idea with DOTA in war3 having only 6 item slots and no user interface for upgrading items. Here is a thread someone started a while back about having item upgrades rather than recipies which is pretty much the same thing just alot less complex. I for one would like to see something implmented with upgrading items just because the depth
This post is really funny because 1) I totally agree with you that vampire lord is has crazy awesome abilities. 2) I see alot of posts where people are bitching that he is the worst demigod of the bunch LOL. I for one have a hard time fighting vampire lord and not having to run for the hills cause his kicking my ass [e digicons]:fuzzy:[/e] Bat port is the shit [e digicons][/e]
As far as the war ranking they used to have it so what ever team had captured one of the flags was 1 war rank ahead of the other team. I thought that was a nice way to add a little depth but I have yet to see that back in the newer maps. If they had a few of these flags on the map that could make it quite interesting since war rank determins strength of enemies coming outa the portal and what you can buy from the citidal. Right now its hard to judge how competitve this gam
I think the new voice is fine if you're playing for the Forces of Darkness, but the good team should have the old voice. The hissy evil voice sounds out of place when playing Oak, for instance.
Totally agree.
