My wife and I have been playing dota for about 4 years now and when I showed her this game she was all over it. We like to get a few games in every night since she loves to "blow shit up" as she calls it [e digicons]:D[/e] . We are currently trying to get other friends who play only dota and wow to join in on the fun. Hopefully they give it a try because this game is tons of fun. Its hard to weed people off the warcrack though... [e digicons]X([/e]
Hahhaha its not that bad online. Wow what a freak out. Some people are so funny...
I was just replying to a thread where somone commented on dota recipies and I remembered this one. Good to see it resurface again since its such a fantastic idea that would surely bring lots of replay to the game and hopefully quell those dota fanatics that miss their beloved combine recipes. I love dota myself but this would surely be a better implementation in my opinion.
This would be pretty awesome if implemented properly but I think it would be difficult to do because how do you put a value to certain attributes? HP, mana, hp regen, mana regen, lifesteal, damage, movement speed, attack speed. It would be tough to put a value on a small amout of them and have it go up proportionatly. If it was a custom favor item it would have to be something where say you can only make items with the most expensive favor items now (around 2k?).
Might be nice as a game option when checked it could do this. I agree it would be nice since then you dont have to go through the painful process of connecting to everyone again when you were already connected to everyone in the last game. It doesnt need to be the default but an option for it would be nice.
I love dota as much as the next dota fanboy but this game doesnt need recipes. If they really wanted to improve it they could do an item upgrade system that was recommended by many in beta. This would "sorta" satisfy those that are looking for a deep item system to add layers of combinations that would help make this game deeper in strategy. The maps are graphically awesome as they look do lack the terrian features found on the dota map where you can hide and gank pe
Yeah I hope they fix that. It would totally suck to happen in a close game since it would pretty much mean win or loose because of it.
Yep, it appears to have worked. Karma for you for sure. Thanks again!
Thank you for the quick response I will try this out [e digicons][/e] .
By the way the exception is 100% reproducable and if I host and my wife joins the game on our network no one else can connect to us. It shows in the connection window someone trying to connect and them fails every time.
My wife just got the game so we could play with one of our friends online. Here is the issue. I can create a game and my wife can join it (were on the same router). Also I can create a game and my friend can join it. The problem is if I create the game and my friend joins first and then my wife trys to join she gets an unhandled exception error every time. Same if flipped around (my wife is in the channel and my friend trys to join). Is there a solution for
Cant wait for this to take effect.
Do you guys both have the beta patch that came out Friday? I heard there is a crash bug that happens for certain people and will be fixed around Monday. Hang in there should be fixed soon.
This is the most amazing demigod site I have seen yet: http://www.demigoddb.com/ Nice tool to plan how you want to build your demigod with what items and skills. Very cool!
Yeah I remember one day in IRC I think Yarlen posted it and I was like o cool this needs a bookmark [e digicons]:D[/e] .
[quote who="PurplePaladin" reply="14" id="2180836"]Ya, played a game today with Sedna; 4v4, seriously, it missed more than it healed. It's so frustrating that you have the mana, your in range, your allie needs a heal asap or death, and click. . . nothing; click again. . . nothing. You can right click somewhere really fast, and then hit the heal spell and click again, and it MIGHT work, or not. Seeing an alli die, you just KNOW they are saying "why the HECK did he
Well thats different...
This happens with every demigod and is pretty well known bug. Its been around since earliest beta I can even remember. Lets all hope they can squash this sucker once and for all!
Yeah custom games 3v3 work fine and dandy. You can even get them going really fast compared to when the game launched. My biggest beef is in the skirmish where it pairs 2v1. It seems to never want to do more than 2v2 ever which is annoying especially if it picks the larger maps. This game is a blast to play and when we see the day where 4v4 and 5v5 are the normal and being able to set one up in a few minutes this game is going to shine big time. Lets just

I would gladly wait a few minutes to get into a game I am sure to enjoy if it meets my criteria vs hoping that it randomly gets what I want.
They should have options like preferable game size (3v3), how long to wait, include/exclude AI, map pref, etc. Right now its too automatic making it so no matter what your not going to satisfy everyone. By making options your narrowing that gap of what people will expect.
I would really love to see items like that since even though your spells do not take armor into consideration (a fireball will aways do the same damage reguardless of armor) it still would be nice to enhance spells as an alternative to base damage. Late game dps most spells just don't scale well. Spell reduction items would be awesome too. More stategic options are always a good thing.
It would be nice to have AI options so can tell it to stay together, protect the base, or go off and do its own thing. Also maybe have an option before the game starts (custom game) to pick the AI difficulty if a person leaves the game and has to have the AI take over for them.
