Taxation has massively varied over time from simple taxation on transactions to fees for forming and maintaining businesses to taxing business income and taxation of the individual. Throughout the world and history taxation of some sort has been nearly constant, whether it's dollars or coconuts. WWII started Canada on taxation trend that will never disappear
Um, what?
Actually, when you think about it a certain way, it's the traditional method of 'throw more people at it!' that doesn't make much sense. Raising a building requires a certain number of people to do in a reasonable amount of time and adding more people beyond that doesn't speed things up significantly.
That's true, I forgot about diminishing returns (not good for an econ major...), but I can be forgiven since games never really mo
Something in another thread inspired me to look at Elemental in a different light by comparing it to the other TBS I've played. Unfortunately it seems like all the TBS I've played were developed by the same people, haha. Master of Magic, Civ2, Colonization, Alpha Centauri, Civ4, Civ4 Colonization, and GalCiv 2 (Total War would be a bit of a stretch). After looking at these games, I have to say... I REALLY don't miss taxation. I didn't even notice it was gone at
I noticed that too today. My champion and army attacked an enemy sovereign while my sovereign was exploring elsewhere (and on empty terrain). After I defeated the sovereign, my champ leveled up, and my sovereign leveled up too. So it seems there is sharing going on.
Wouldn't it devolve in a staring contest, now with both sides waiting for the other to get in range?
But isn't ranged combat pretty weak right now, especially magic? So getting pelted by arrows/magic would force you to move forward with your melee troops, thus initiating combat.
If you could make custom sovereigns like the pre-made ones, then Procipinee's description wouldn't be accurate anymore: she wouldn't be the most powerful channeller after the Cataclysm ... ok that's a dumb reason, but it is one :)
Oh, that's what the deal is? It always pissed me off that I got this cool armor, and it said it didn't fit me so all I could do was sell it. I guess I've only played Fallen sovereigns (even with kingdoms). Is there any weapon/armor that is exclusive to the Fallen?
I waited to play until after the day 0 patch, and the first thing I did was play the campaign: it also happened to me then (my capital was renamed Athos after I discovered that city).
It seems that when I'm exploring and come upon another city, sometimes one of my cities will take its on map City Hud details (for example, if my capital is named Necropolis and it comes upon the city of Xander, Necropolis' name AND color AND flag changes to Xander's). Everything else is the same (if I zoom out to cloth map it has the right name and color, if I bring up the City Detail menu it is correct). One time I saved and reloaded and it fixed it, then in the same game it hap
Or Lord of the Sea, whatever it is, is just a minor water elemental. The Lord of Ice is correct, which I assume is the Fire Giant equivalent, but the Lord of Water is just equivalent to the minor Fire Elemental.
This is my second crash, happened during a Tactical Battle (only 2 heroes versus group of spiderlings). No slow down before hand on strategic map (normal Random Map) http://pastebin.ca/1926130
Happened during Tactical Battle, just hung there until I alt-tabbed out. This is my second crash (had an Out of Memory), and was on a normal Random Map (no slowdown on strategic map beforehand). http://pastebin.ca/1926130
This has happened to me twice (should've learned the first time, but anyway)...I want to Imbue a Champion that doesn't have any essence, but I'm in a stack with other Champions (that already do have Essence) and it gave it to one of them. Waste of mana, essence, and annoying, so some kind of pop-up screen would be great, because it's really annoying separating the Champ and the Sov (and wasting a move), Imbue, then recombine.
"You should be able to kill champions who are wandering around in the wilderness..." I was extremely confused by that, because there was a champion near one of my cities who said "Looks like (this city) is ripe for the taking!", so I killed him. Then I got a screen accusing me of being a murderer, which didn't improve my relations with other factions. On another point, I just simply think of the champions that have a high intelligence to be the "naturally gifted" channel
No solutions?
Had my first game crash with an Out of Memory error. I played the Campaign and a normal Random Map game with no slowdown like the one I got this time (did have a crash the first time I loaded it up, but no others I believe...). I was playing on the Middle Earth map provided in the in-game Mods section, and it was taking a long time for the next turn to start after pressing End Turn. http://pastebin.ca/1925791 Thank you for y
Sorry to continue the trend of personal observation threads, but I didn't see any rules against it so here we go. I loved Master of Magic as a kid, and I continue to play it now after it was released through GoG. Though this is not a sequel, or even a "spiritual successor" (I don't know the company's position on that view), this game is a MoM replacement for me (not a Civ replacement, but a MoM replacement). I was concerned about the "epic feel" that people were talking
Hello, first time poster. I've read enough about this game to be excited, and it inspired me to download Master of Magic to relive my childhood :) (I know it's not a sequel, but it's the closest thing). I wanted to respond to this post because it seems some grievous errors could occur, but I may be wrong due to my lack of knowledge. How common are heroes? To me, heroes are special because they're rare. When a hero in MoM pops up to ask to join me, I'm ex
