If you do that, you'll have 20 Earths, 20 Altaria's, etc. Though the lack of custom homeworld's in the editor really limits it's usefulness IMO. I'm not sure how such a feature got left out.

Ha, yeah, it's a good logo, it's all I use for Terran now. Well, I guess I'm going to end up remaking the model in 3DS Max. I much prefer SketchUp's easier/less crowded interface, but oh well. I'm basically trying to put together a "jumble of sci-fi that I like" mod, with some ships from Halo, New BSG (A lot of these already exist, but I was mostly going to do missing stuff, like Valkyrie), Mass Effect, etc. I already had the UNSC Frigate done o

3D modelling program could do it, but I don't think it would do you any good. I think the only way to alter a ship's size is to just assign it a higher or lower hull class. Tiny ships are rendered differently from Huge ones, I think.

Thats a picture of a model I'm trying to get into Galactic Civilizations II. I'm really only concerned with it working in Twilight. As you can see, I've got some texture problems. The majority of the ship has been covered in what I assume to be the default Terran texture. This appears MOST of the time, however the ship has appeared totally gray twice, and I haven't been

Some. I've figured out that apparently the engine color is hiding some of my textures. It's all a little more complex than I'm willing to deal with.

Ok, here's the problem. I have a few models that I would like to place in the game (Twilight). They're all done in Google SketchUp, but I have an .x file exporter, and I've managed to get them to show up after a while of tweaking (posted tutorials never really helped me out for some reason). Problem is, a lot of them show up backwards, and all of them show up with missing textures, and no hard points. I've pretty much given up on getting this all to work myself, so if

I ran into the same issue and made a thread about it, and was told that it couldn't be done. I've yet to find a way to get the real planets to show up, so they may have been right.

Hm, I don't want to replace an extreme environment, since even if I replaced all of them I still wouldn't have enough slots for all the unique planets. Hopefully I can find a way around that. I notice that the texture seems to remain consistent between saved games, so it must be storing the way the planets look, maybe I can edit that somehow to point towards the correct textures.

Crap. This is probably a long shot and more work than it's worth, but theoretically, could I create a whole new planet type (like barren and aquatic), assign it only one possible look (that being Earth's look, or whatever planet I'm trying to replicate), and then make Earth that kind of planet? Is that doable within GCII? I'm still sorta new to modding the game, so I'm not really clear on what is and is not doable yet.

I apologize if this has been asked/answered before, I searched for a while and didn't come up with anything, but I wasn't really sure what to look for, so it may have been there. Anyways, I'm using the map editor in Twilight. I've made a custom map with a fixed starting location for each of the races, but there's a problem. Earth doesn't look like Earth, Mars doesn't look like Mars, Jupiter doesn't...you get the idea. Is there a way I can get the race-

Generally, if I had to pick any one unit to mass produce it would be the capital carriers, or the pocket carriers if we're just doing normal ships.

I know of one, because it stepped on Halo Wars' toes. Thats a weak reason to refuse to consider a mod.

I've used fortifying to great effect in the single player game. I haven't done too much multiplayer yet, so I can't really comment on it's effectiveness there.
Umm.. I think you guys are missing a very important part here, something that may just derail this mod:Believe it or not, you DO need permission to use Bungie's ships, both from the game and from the books, in the mod. Even IF you created them from stratch, you are still using their likeness and names, not to mention you are also using a copyrighted title IN GENERAL.Their game, Halo, and all material related to it are copyrighted UNDER Bungie, meaning: You need their permission. So before

Well, if we're talking about theoretical units... I don't know if it's actually possible to add a race into this game yet, so I'm assuming the mod would just be using the TEC and replacing their units with UNSC units. So I guess the obvious replacements would be Gauss Defense Platform = [link="http://halo-gamespot.wikia.com/wiki/Orbital_Defense_Platform"]Orbital Defense Platform[/link]. Pretty obvious. They pretty much fulfill the same purpose. The ODP's might have t

It's a good idea, and most of Halo's space combat would translate pretty easily into the game, but I think it would be pretty hard to get a project like this off the ground. I think we'll probably see one million USS Enterprise downloads before we get a single In Amber Clad :(
