so... who else just takes the 3 Potential traits as the first 3 choices? that's the problem with non-randomized level ups. All hero's will basically follow the same paths through the trait tree. Who would bother with the magic defense when you can go get army dodging first?
This is a very good point, without at least a little bit of randomness, it is going to
I agree with Asmal... if you want random, just continue to play FE. I really like this new system of leveling, it allows you to plan out what you want to do with a champion/soverign when they level. The randomness will interfere with that, and possibly to a large degree. The only thing I do agree on is possibly adding a third "tab" at a late level (like 25 or something along those lines) which would allow the cham
Oh, and as the date and time-stamp would indicate, this is patch .50. My bad!
Thats a good point, I have had similar issues in original FE...... it's been going on for a while.
Not entirely true, a L 10 city commander has more HP than a L 1, can use better magical items, and I am pretty sure a few other base stats besides HP go up with level. Also, there is no reason he couldn't take an initial couple traits that give him XP for sitting in a city, then level up his spell casting, and have high level spells available.
Ditto point 2, I was trying to make a faction with special bows today as well, couldn't find it :/ I think 5 is working as intended, if you want to trigger a quest, target it. 6 I will back you up on, going through a city messes with the calculations for the movement. Saw 8 myself as well, very annoying, though I suppose that might be working as intended?
This glitch happened when I tried scrolling along the tech screen. Note how a lot of the lines that connect techs are also gone. The bug actually got worse as I continued to play, the names of most techs were just gone (but the pop up with the tech name would appear if I hovered over the tech), but it only affected the Civilization screen, not Warfare or Magic. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4h077oqopr1a3ly/FELH%20Floating%20tech%20names.PNG
The event where skeletons appear everywhere is REALLY cool. I like how the place that I need to investigate is near my starting location, curious if that is luck or design... Sadly, I did not investigate, it, all my troops and heroes were busy dying to the Lord of Flames, as I complained about in a different post about monster behavior. Also, I really appreciate that they (the skeletons) are NOT running around razing all my cities, shards, outposts, etc....
Issue A: I think the game is a bit stingy with XP on some fights. Point in case, the Garotte, big ice monster, beat the heck out of my two units, and killed my L 6 sovereign, before my L 4 hero brought it down with a final ranged attack. XP: 3 for the units, 6 for the hero... really? I realize I was penalized for having a hero and sovereign (XP split or whatever), but still... my sovereign was in very good armor, path of defender, I think this guy could hav
Yeah, I seriously think wolves need a bit of a nerf. That's the point of the beta, give them feedback on this sort of stuff (and find technical glitches). I REALLY like the front line/back line idea Ashnal.... just because my mage has a staff that doesn't do ranged attacks, doesn't mean I wanted her on the front line....
I think you can have both together, if the designers are OK with it. It changes balance, but it definitely adds excitement. FE is inferior in a lot of ways already. Who knows, maybe someone with modding skills will see this and implement it....
Doh, forgot, second issue with unit placement... in a later fight, there was a lake in the middle. One of my units was on the left flank, one was on the right, and my defender was in the middle, again unable to get to either flank before the large bear and teh smal bear came up to one of my units and kicked it's butt. Honestly... I know it would slow down combat, but I think allowing us to place our own units is probably the only solution to this s
So, apparently a Mage with a staff that boosts spell mastery is considered a melee unit for placement... and is placed in front of a Defender. matter of fact, between the mage, and the two starting units, I could not get my Defender out front. And then the enemy killed my Mage very quickly. As in, before anyone besides my poor out of place defender could go. Considering my defender was my only unit with armor, I am pretty much INSISITING that something
When in the shop, the image of Tuatha displays... his crotch and thighs. It was hilarious, I wish all the jokes me and my buddies checking out the game over my shoulder made were recorded...
Alright, where to begin. Before I go any farther, it is a very fun game, I already like it more than the original (Fallen Enchantres). Combat is much more exciting now, and I know I haven't even gotten that far (though I do have an issue with it, but that will be my next post). The new leveling up is... less exciting, but I can see why it was done. Would it be at all possible to have there be ONE random possible trait available at level up, e
All right, all right, sorry I'm so grumpy. I just know my free time is almost done, and I had really pegged on this to be my free entertainment. If you could magically send 5 cool people to my house, all ready to play the Rise of the Runelords adventure (Pathfinder), I could use that as free entertainment....
Great screenshots certainly make for some good publicity and some sales, but you know what else makes for good publicity and sales? People being really excited over playing a beta. If they hadn't gotten expectations high with previous statements saying "it should be this date", then I personally, and certainly some other people, wouldn't be disappointed right now. We would just be waiting.
OK, read the first page of comments, and regardless of where people stand on shadows (use them or not), my bigger question is... are they worth delaying a beta over? They could already be gathering lots of feedback on gameplay, crash errors, typos, etc. To have it be delayed over shadows seems silly. I realize, of course, that they also want feedback on how the shadows might be causing glitches, etc, etc, but there are ONLY 2 reasons I can see th
My thoughts on the subject (which may just be me parroting one of Frogboy's posts from a long, long time ago, I honestly don't remember): A- It makes the choice of where to place a city more difficult, and therefore more meaningful. Next to a forest, or not? B- It would be a lot of coding I imagine in order to make the AI do it intelligently. I believe that the improvements that can be build on a ri
Ditto, it's human nature to be used to hearing about the updates, and then be EXTRA disappointed when they disappear. I know that nobody HAS to give us these updates, but, well, a date was set, it was changed and we were told, it was changed and we were told, the date still hasn't been met... and now no news. What's up?
Ditto, there are crazy people in the US (yes, I am from the US), just like anywhere else, and yeah, sometimes they will do crazy things. Hopefully no retarded politician will take this story and go crazy with it...
I say, the Pathfinder RPG..... Oh, did we mean computer RPG's? :P. Arcanum was a fun one, an ex-girlfriend introduced me to it years ago, I didn't manage to make it very far though.
Bug 1: the character Daxus the Slaver, from a quest I did, when I fought him, he had no powers, no attack, no defense. His description just had the text line, something along the lines of "What are you looking at", which i found quite funny, honestly. But it was very weird to have an enemy who presented no threat at all. (he was from the quest where you rescue the little girl from the slavers, and then they give you a family artifact. Or I could have had the slav
I agree, it's annoying that XP pretty much has to come from monsters. And that loot gained by the Ai is loot forever lost to the players. To re-ask the question at the end of the original post; would something like this be able to be modded in?
Agree absolutely with Seanw3 in reply #7, glad he said it all so nicely so i didn't have to bring up the point.
