Need to update to the latest patch but I didn't see a fix for this in the change logs. The tactical regeneration spell has an occasional tendency to 'infect' squares on the World map with its visual, leaving the sparkly green shimmer behind upon departure of the unit bearing the active spell. This seems to happen most often for squares where some kind of encounter occurs. Another, related example of this contagious visual is in the store. See below. Apparently the

Completely and utterly awesome. Two years to complete a Spell of Making, eh? That's real grit, determination and devotion for you.
After beating Verga like a bad stepchild and banishing him back to his home city to sit and lick his wounds, I decided to demand his surrender. He accepted. Thus I inherited a new champion, an immobilized one stuck in the midst of black fog-of-war (FoW) map space that I'd never gotten around to exploring. OK. I figured that's a leftover situation from him getting immobilized as my enemy previously. I waited out Verga's deep freeze and expected when I got full control the F
Since AI improper spell stacking is a running theme, I'll add yet another bug entry for it. Hopefully one fix can clear the whole lot of them.
I had an Outpost built that linked to a city experiencing excessive unrest (capped at 100%). After jacking the tax rate to Oppressive and then building a shrine, I was informed of the following ETA to completion: So is -1 Seasons the same thing as "What are you smoking?"
+ Bashing Maul does 50% splash damage + Titanic Maul does 75% splash damage Enquiring minds want to know... is the splash damage coming from the maul or from the maul's initial victim? [e digicons][/e] Love it. Bring on the patch!
So I accepted Karavox's surrender, thus gaining a new champion for the Tarth kingdom and cause. Next turn I bought him a horse but obviously the shop keeper cheated me. Poor Karavox spent the rest of the game riding his gopher. That'll teach me to hand over the gildar before inspecting the goods.
edit: to be specific i played magnar for the first time. I was aware of the cold weakness but didnt think too much about it. Then Tarth declares war on me and starts sending three unit armies (to get their attack and initiative bonus) towards me in waves. They are sending 3 man units of cold staff wielding troops for 4 ranged cold damage - later they added the bonus damage from the magic rings to increase damage - but with the bonu
Extending on Heavenfall's comments, here are my 2 Bitcoins worth: We've reached the point where the in-game factions are becoming ever more richly distinct from each other. This gives you the chance to enjoy some unique play depending on your choice of starting faction. E:WoM fell short here. Do you want another retread of monsters you may have experienced many times over or would you prefer something fresh? Personally, I like fresh and new. If you know E:WoM,
Capitar's warhorse is great and works fine for units, but I don't seem to be able to buy one (or a regular horse) from my cities. I did randomly manage to buy one, once, from Gilden or Magnar (I forget which) but can't any more. Going to explore this a bit more and then try to report it if it doesn't resolve itself.
I don't know about the Capitar variety but in my games so far I've only been able to purchas
This is actually a tactic I wish the AI was better at using against the human player. In all the games I've played so far, I can't recall any time the AI employing a "May only be cast in your territory" type spell against one of my invading armies. I like the current system. To me, it's part of the benefit of building up a mana horde and playing a tower defense strategy while you go after one of the victory conditions other than total opponent annihilation. Though
This happened in the wee hours of the morning so I thought I was just sleep deprived. Sights like this will make you seriously think about going to bed. So I stormed Medden's Cross and took it rather handily from Resoln. When tactical combat ended and I returned to the world map, Resoln had a stray Pioneer camped due south of the city. No big deal. Except this particular Pioneer was dabbling in quantum mechanics. Witness: <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64040046/
Trade Treaty makes caravans go from capital to capital. Sure it wasn't one of your cravans?
Ahh, that's something I totally neglected. Caravans have faded so much into the background, it's easy to forget they're still your units. Hence they will dispel FoW as they move. And I do believe the caravan gobbled up by one of the Ignys's was my own. Derek, I think Blackmantle deduced what's really going
Twice today different AI monster units foraged through the rear area of an AI empire. This was a portion of the map previously unrevealed to me, but it became visible as the monsters marauded across the countryside. Full details became exposed as if the monsters belonged to me, which they did not. This happened to an AI player that I recently started trading with but had no other political arrangements. Also I believe the monster units were recently spawned in as part of a small wave
I'm not completely sure but I believe I saw the +1 poison damage tack on in subsequent turns. Tough to remember now. So if a unit has the trait 'Immune to "X"', does it really mean "X" can be applied to it, but it just won't suffer ill effects? Kind of like Mary can get infected with typhoid fever but it won't harm her? (BTW, don't ever eat anything Mary cooks.) If I fight a monster that is immune to critical hits, can my character still roll a critical
Yet I poisoned one with my measly spider artifact.
In the middle of a close tactical battle my cat jumped onto my keyboard. Before I could shoo her away, she caused all my units to pass multiple turns. I got slaughtered. I don't know how Stardock arranged that particular random event, but I hope I never see it again.
Thinking as a player and not a tester, I voted good. Here's why: A. I do enjoy playing the game to completion as it is now B. I look forward to playing the game C. I think about how I'm playing even when I'm not actually playing Here are two reasons why I'm unable to vote excellent: 1. Replayability - It's not clear yet the game can draw me back after the newness wears off. As it sits now, I suspect after a sufficient number
I watched two different AI stacks of Scouts + Pioneers become monster meat in 0.91. And I was quite thankful. It let my puny little hero sneak by those monster strongholds without getting molested.
2) Defeated armies still sometimes leave their image on the strategic map (you can't select them; they're effectively dead, it just looks like they are still there).
There is sort of a converse variant on this one that's also annoying. If you attack a tile that has several independent armies stacked in it and you defeat the first one, the next one in the stack often does not get visualized in the tile on the strategic map.
The Details button has been misbehaving like this for some time. Here is what I reported against 0.86: https://forums.elementalgame.com/419487
Would you believe SoSE: Rebellion beta? Don't tell Brad. Seriously, I promise I'll get to it. What' that? FE 0.91 is out?? 'Scuse me.
Depending on however the scale is supposed to work, this is either only a typo or it's a bug in addition to a typo. The scale says: Light Heavy 50-75% Encumbered 75-100% So I take that to mean 49% or less equates to Light encumbrance. If so, then the logic isn't working correctly for my Champion: I suspect the logic is ac
Note to self: wrap up Beta 2 games by April 11. There's a new sheriff coming to town.
It comes down to this… as a player I snake my cities because there are gameplay advantages to do so and I play to win. Eliminate the snaking advantages and building/improvement placement won’t matter anymore to me. I’ll hit the Build-Auto Place button every time unless you give me a new or different reason, other than aesthetics, to further care about building placement. Under these circumstances cities could be represented any way you like on the main map: 1 tile s
