Very nice... brings back the old days for me. :)

I would also make back-ups to these files. Other than that I think you are good to go.
I see it from time to time. I attribute it to a loading issue.
Don't think I'd pay $5 just for a map pack, but I would pay $5 for a map designer - given how cramped the default maps are, I'd really like to add some that give you room to maneuver (and don't let Umberdroths hit you on turn 0).
You do realise that the game already has a map designer. It's in the workshop area under cartographer...
It's not that hard. open up the .xml file with notepad. I added it towards the end of the file. It should looks something like this
STUFF EmpireStyle
Then save it and you should be good to go.
It's missing the EmpireStlye in the .xml file it creates in the documents folder.
It's missing the line EmpireStyle in the .xml file it creates in the documents.
Fairly I haven't ignored what you have said. I've read what you said several times, I was having difficulties on deciphering what you were meaning because like I said before I've never played those games (except for warlock which I didn't care for long enough to give it a fair go). It's not as clear as you might think because you are leaving out so much detail. I agree that there is so much more potential that this game has and will continue to grow with that potential.</p
I found the problem... the .xml file in the race folder doesn't have the following EmpireStyle Just add that to the race file and you should be good to go. The race file is in ..\documents\my games\fallenenchantress\race\
I confirmed it myself. There seems to be a bug here. It appears that custom factions do not get empire buildings only kingdom buildings. Strange. I've checked it with both an kingdom race and an empire race.
My guess is that you forgot to check a box. You may have chosen a common empire race but the idealogy box was not checked...
For what its worth you forgot Umber as well.
As far as I can tell, the game does not "do all that itself"; I'd have to install another program (Stardock Central) to get automatic updates. Am I wrong?
No you are not wrong. The problem that Stardock is going to run into by giving the steam key away is the fact that suppose they do, now you have the ability to download from Stardock for free and you got a steam key (which you don't have to redeem). Now Stardock
Edit : Seems you've already identified the npc. Unfortunately.. I've never ran into him yet.
I've ran into him once, but luckly I killed him neatly without the spell that everybody is ranting about. He's rather easy to kill, IF he doesn't cast that spell, which I killed him before he got it off. From reading I attribute that to luck on my part ;)
Or have them switch from young, adult and ancient versions could be cool.
That would be neat. Also, for each of the lairs could you check in the fact that the only monster to level is the lead monster. It leaves some of these encounters seem odd... One super buff monster next to 2 (really) weak monsters. If I could suggest a moderate level up for the partner monsters, maybe not on the same scale as the original monsters
Unfortunately I never played MOM and so I really don't understand the analogy to it's fullness. I know that there are a lot of people here who have played MOM and were disappointed that this game wasn't a MOM remake. You have given a better interpretation of what you feel is missing from this game and from this point of view, I can see suggestions already included within your arguments that you would like to see FE move. Thank you for your reply because if this is th
I thought the pioneer unit was removed from unit design since the middle of the beta, so you don't have this problem. But I could be mistaken
Unless we know exactly what is in the DLC it is all speculation. For example, these maps could also include map stamps, which helps with the randomness. It could also include general overall maps that are appropriately balanced for the player, which is what we are assuming is the entire map pack. But it could also include several new tatical maps, which would be a welcome addition. As to downloadable content I would like to see, there is so much to suggest here that it's hard to s
what are these stamps people keep talking about ?
The random maps are generated by taking these stamps (small map pieces) and put together randomly with appropriately fitting stamps.
So your major complaint after sifting through all your arguments is that the game doesn't have enough altering visuals for an imersive experience. Thus, to make this game `better' for you, would be to add more unique spells to each race. Provide different environments for each race, provide a UI that is uniquely formed for each race. Provide unique looking buildings for each factions / race in the generic game. Thus, you have a big problem on just the visuals the game provides. <
the game used to have modifiable buildings at least, and you could mod the aesthetics even more with tools and XML files in ways that are hard coded against you now).
You can actually make unique building for each race if you want. It would require some real work here, but it is possible.

I've looked at other posts about this and was just as confused. Some of them have given up on the game and some of them decided to change their mind about the ga
