The Anyths map is bigger than large. It was made with FE in mind and the largest label for maps there was Large, hence why you see large. Starting positions on the map are plentiful and can be used with more than 7. It has 28 start positions, and so you could effectively have 28 factions on the map. So, the idea is that you choose veteran first and if you want another free level choose experienced. Unless you prefer the other situation where they both cost the same, wages and higher training costs. Edit: Also Experienced is only a mancer trait
You don't have to worry about it as the steam updater works by overwriting everything that doesn't match the file they have on record. Thus, if it doesn't match it is overwritten. Plus all of my mods run from the mods directory, so I don't have to do worry about steam updates or the stardock versions ;)

Well champions are not necessarily the same power as a sovereign. He also has the staff of banishing, which accounts for the "weak" weakness. I would agree that fire 2 and water 2 was probably the intent, as that would make him equivalent to a starting sovereign for traits at level 3.
I believe you are still able to play the game to completion, it just stops keeping score at that point. At least this was the rumor I heard on the forums and I have yet to reach a turn limit.
There are several ways of dealing with the wildling shaman. When you build troops you should note that their defense is useless against fire damage. You need fire resistance and that will keep your units alive. It's not that hard to give you units fire resistance with natures cloak. If you are playing altar you have fire resistant leather armor. I want my units not to use all of there movements. I want my units not to get these bonuses from guarding and such. Try fighting a banshee with no magic weapons. 1 unit, 9 attack, 28 hit points or less.... decimate any army you bring without magic weapons. The game is balanced with these wildlings, they are not a pushover and they are a threat. One must look at the special abilities of units before attacking units. I don't think anybody would complain that a single dragon ate a stack of 7 militia units. I really like it when I have that shaman and decimate the enemy armies with that simple coal

You have to create a selected bonus option that increases XP, then give that to EVERY champion ;) It is a tedious process.
Yes, I've succeeded with the bonus. I'll have to update it for 1.2 since that came out recently.
I believe that one is the comparison between combat ratings and the experience multiplier given different combat ratings. Not exactly sure how that works, but if you fight a creature with a higher combat rating maybe the exp base divided by .06, and if you have a higher combat rating it is multiplied by .06 I haven't played with the experience modifiers here, but you can try it out to see exactly what it does.

I don't know why it showed up for Ceresa, I do have it restricted via allegiance, and forgot to hide it. During that check I did notice another error with the water shrine and temple, that might occur which I did fix. So everything should be working correctly now. Also, there was another minor error about upgrading to the next life shrine and temple. This is all fixed in .80 thanks for the check.
These are all very good questions and I for one don't value essence as much as others in the game. I would have probably taken the 2 / 6 forest next to water than the 3 / 3 / 2, but that is me and others have different play styles. I tend to give myself more cities when I have the opportunity as well, since I like the multiple cities (I worry less about the unrest penalties than others). But, if I have no cities with essence I will choose the essence, as you need at least 1 cit
In regards to the maps you've grown to love during the beta were given actually in error on Stardocks part. They didn't intend to release the map pack for free. It was not malice on their part, it was an error that they actually only caught at the very end of the beta process (due to one of my reports). Otherwise they would have fixed that problem in the beginning of the beta. If you purchased the Map DLC in FE you will have it for LH via Publius of NV method. Otherwise it is
