Yeah game needs undead. I wants my shambling corpses and skelingtons! A ghost or wraith is fine too.

Sounds like you ran into that little demon thing that casts arcane doom. This isn't a problem with the combat rating system so much as it is with the fact that arcane doom is freaking overpowered in its current form. Arcane doom never misses and is guaranteed to do 10 damage to each enemy unit on the field. The best way to handle these things is to train stacks of units instead of individual ones. The HP of stacks is much greater and can survi

Make sure you're not selecting just the ship out of the stack. All I've done is just move a stack of units onto the ship and then move the stack out into the water. If you click the ship icon out of the stack you are telling it to move as an individual unit away from the stack.
You can only build squads once you researched the technology. You can change the amount with the buttons over the unit icons in the training window. You are not able to merge single units to a squad, you can only build them from scratch.
And to further add to this fact squads will replenish their numbers when they heal in one of your cities.

I found a champion wandering around with the Aristocrat profession. The ability said it increased the production bonus of any city the champion was in by 10%. What is this production bonus? Another some what related question. Mining bonuses from Sovereign profession and the Mining Guild tech, does that also effect gold mines or is that just metal mines such as iron? Gold is a metal as well but I do not know if those bonuses apply since the game t

Watch towers don't seem to do anything at all. I built a watch tower at every single outpost plus main city. I didn't really notice a difference so I deconstructed a watch tower at one of my outposts. Then I advanced one turn. No difference in vision range. I rebuilt the watch tower again and after it completed there was no change in vision range. I then advanced one turn just in case it was one of those things that doesn't become available
Ranged also appears to be a bit weak. I regularily seem to miss or do really piddly damage with archers. RAT
Something I've noticed about ranged units. There maybe a hidden secondary range along with the maximum range. I've noticed that I can't hit things for crap if targets are out near the maximum range but if the targets come closer, say 4-5 tiles from the range units, they

Magic is underwhelming right now because its bugged. Currently, magic is using a 0-X damage calculation range instead of a min-max damage range. Shards are also not functioning properly during tactical battles. As in shards do absolutely nothing. If you use auto battle the game actually calculates magic properly. Stardock is aware of this problem and is working on a fix. They also intend to add equipment to support mage sovereigns.
First, thanks for all the work you guys are putting into the game. If it is intelligence vs defense and an enemy sov is all decked out in the best researched armor a caster sov won't be able to touch him. The caster sov has to invest in both essense and intelligence. So maybe consider all of the caster type stats in "to hit" and not just intelligence. Or else also make magic staffs and magic robes avail
Yeah as I've said in other threads: special abilities are the way to make combat interesting, and differentiate soldiers in meaningful ways. Get a cavalry charge ability if you have a horse, first strike if you have a lance, cleave with a greatsword, and so on - ideally at least one ability per unit, although some units could combine multiple abilities in interesting ways if they we
I agree with you wholeheartedly. Weak, massively overpriced and ridiculously fragile at higher levels. Why bother even getting champions only to have them become one-shot kills for some level 4 ogre or the like?
I have to agree with this statement. As it is I don't even bother hiring champions past level 1 unless its to marry my sovereign. Female champions are also extremely rare so I've

Yeah I don't think there is one. I looked. I mean I really looked and found nothing that relates to this. Its extremely annoying and screws up my camera in tactical battles something bad.

9 Replies 7,817 Views

Yeah that has to be a bug. Even if level 69 was possible to get on your sovereign you couldn't get stats like that.

Yeah I miss the diverse races too. My favorite race was the Draconian race in MoM. The game also feels kind of incomplete without the elves and beast races too. Of course this isn't MoM.

I noticed that archers seem to have a kind of hidden range in addition to their maximum range. If you've played Heroes of Might and Magic you'll understand what I'm talking about. Archers in that game would only do half damage past a certain point up to their maximum range. It seems that whenever my archers shoot at anything beyond 5-6 tiles they do horrible damage or miss constantly. Bring the enemy close and they start murdering stuff. I haven'

This makes logical sense. Also consider that pikemen during that era would plant their spears in the ground at an angle forming a wall of sharp pointy things so mounted soldiers wouldn't run up on them. If they did they'd end up skewering themselves. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pikemen
If you mean to group them into a single unit like one trained as a party, squad, etc, you can only create those by training them, individuals can't be combined in that way (they're not trained to fight as a unit).
Thanks, this answers my question. I guess I should just get those peasants killed off or disband them then since they've become obsolete at this point. No sense in having them stick

So I've got 6 individual peasants and 1 stack of spearmen. Is there anyway to stack the peasants together so they show up as one stack of units like the spearmen?
