[quote who="Cookie_1" reply="19" id="2640481"] Quoting Frogboy, reply 17 As for being "RPG-ish", certainly there is an RPG sense to it in that you're not dealing with thousands of faceless people but rather every unit is individually represented and that you're dealing with much smaller numbers than the traditional strategy game where you might have 20,000 guys that die off in a single battle. Interesting. Does this mean the

[quote who="MagicwillNZ" reply="85" id="2640222"] My 2 cents - separate the gameplay aspect from the realism aspect, and let the game-play drive the decision. It's a fantasy fictional game and those are written in reverse order of importance. Granted it is a fantasy game, at the same time reality has a lot of inspirational material. Detailed models do provide a lot of emergent strategy and simply looking at what would happen "in real life" gives us reasons why particula

I'm also wondering if you guys would at the very least consider a free timed beta (ie play 3 hours max) to minimize risk to your customers for preordering a game that could end up not running on their system. y/n? Yea, the beta 1 phase has turned out to be even more crucial than we had thought it would be when we first set it up. I wonder how many people remember what the game was going to be like originally. The enhanced design is just so much more enjoyable to play. One example: Recruitable NPCs were not

Indie developers need funding, major publishers need original PC titles, if indie developers keep their heads together and look at what they sign, I think this can be very good for PC gaming. Would you rather have an excellent game like Space Rangers sell a couple 100,000 when an Activision has the muscle to get the game into the public eye, where I
IIRC, if you preorder through the site, it redirects you to the impulse store, so it shouldn't matter, you should be let in when Beta 2 starts (next Thursday).
