Do the monsters even attack the AI at all? I like to play on Dense as well, but on that setting my Scouts can hardly get 5 tiles away from the town before they're mauled. The AI's scouts just run around willy-nilly without a care in the world. I will also come upon AI outposts and cities with very powerful critters just hanging out within the area of influence like it's no big deal, whereas if it was my outpost they would turn it into paste

I've discovered in my most recent playthrough that I'm unable to do any quests at all. I've unlocked all the way up to Breon's Letters (max), but even if I try to do easy quests, it says that I have to research (heroes, etc) to do it and it has the red lock icon over it.

Kong - re: them being mutually exclusive, I agree that an alternative would be to have the penalty outweigh the benefits. As it is now, you get the +1 to attack and 50% all hero recruiting costs for nothing. I still think a non-magic versio
Hey all, I played Elemental for quite a while, but only recently downloaded the FE beta and started playing it. Some quick, initial observations on my part 1) Creature difficulty is high early in the game - unlike Elemental, you are very limited to where you can expand, and I've found that there are some very tough creatures very close to your starting location. I find it extremely difficult to make and defend new settlements ... having two is a challenge, t
