I haven't read all the pages of the thread, so I apologize if I'm repeating someone, but I'd like to see more options when generating a new map. Especially an option to set the density of resources (low, med, high) and the number of continents. Controlling the frequency of forest/mountain/etc terrain would be nice too. I'm tired of starting a new game only to realize after about half an hour that my starting position leaves me at a huge disadvantage.

Great! Next question: I see that there are multiple options to set the starting point. How do these work exactly? Can I expect that the number one position is the player, position 2 is opponent, position 3 is minor faction etc?

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I'm just missing something obvious, but I can't seem to place objects using the map editor. Starting points, resources, quests, nada. I can select the item from the menu that pops up on the right, but when I click on the map nothing happens. Tried left clicking, right clicking, shift clicking etc. So is this a bug or am I just too clueless to mod?
