You can mod this in few minutes. All troops you need for AI are upgradable Horse Archer, Horse Mage and Horse Knight (there should be two versions of each unit: with and without expensive amulets) in CoreUnits.xml file. Then you copy/paste them for all factions and you don't need to start the game 10 times.
Ah, that sounds great, I will try it, thanks.

I agree on hammers being a bit too strong, especially when coupled with Rush. Give some troops with Rush a hammer and a shield and more often than not they will have first strike - Crushing blow (due to being able to cover lots of terrain) taking out most of the enemy troops before they even get a chance to attack. Maybe just remove crushing blow altogether and increase bash chance.
Well, if the AI is not trying to take out monsters - I mean if it is WAD not to - then there should be an alternative way for it to getting XP and leveling it's troops. I know they are going after quests, but that is not enough imho. Leveling heroes is important but so is, and maybe more, leveling ordinary troops. Leaving them for the player is kind of worthless, since when the player decides or is forced to invade the AI, they usually are beyond the monster-killing-for-XP stage.
The AI should be tweaked to hunt down monsters. It is an unfair advantage... for the player, since that way the AI is missing out on a whole lot of XP for their armies and heroes. Even the +1 fame for clearing lairs helps quite a bit.
If you run the game in Cheat mode and auto-reasearch everything, you can design units using any tech for the AI. The saved designs will be available even in non-cheat mode.
Hah, didn't even think of that. Thanks for mentioning it !

However, that means I would have to do a playthrough will all races at least once... Well, I might try on Easy with fast pace and lots of resources... It still sounds boring though. I picked up FE:LH again with the advent of 1.3 (already made my kudos post) and there's a few remarks I have after the first 2 and a half playthroughs. I play on Challenging World - Opponents, large random maps, -1 technology rate (meaning one less that default), +1 quest occurrence (meaning one higher than default). I play a custom race/hero, which probably means I am a bit more powerful than a default race. I have all 3 DLCs. First two games, I turned off everything but
I am sure there have been many threads like this, and I understand it might be close to spamming, but since there's no other way to contact the developers, here is my version of it. Congratulations on sticking with the game and congratulations on treating your client base the way you have treated them - us - since the launch of EWOM. When I prepurchased EWOM and shortly after, put it away at release, I could have never have guessed that 3 years later, I would spend a whole Sunday
Reading all this discussion about steam reminds about when DVD's started taking over VHS tapes. Man those poor VHS people were super pissed. I'm not knocking on people who won't/can't use steam. They have their reasons, which are valid to them even if they don't make sense to us. It is their CHOICE not to use steam (or as some people just can't due to internet restrictions). However li

It's weird that Stardock would choose only Steam for distribution, but maybe this will change. But I find GameStop to be awful, both the client and the store, GamersGate is always too expensive for me in the EU, GOG is awesome but it's a different story, and all that's left for me in the EU is GreenManGaming which i
The list of features and changes in the expansion is right on the nose, I expect great things from this franchise in the future. The only dark point is the Steam-only thing. Don't get me wrong, I use steam, but whenever I have a choice not to, I don't. Before the Steam fan-boys jump all over this, consider this. The people who under no circumstances want to install steam on their computers, are not pitchfork bearers shouting "burn the witch", erh... steam. Quite the op
Okay, things are getting weirder. I just got home and found out that none of those saves is actually loadable now. The earliest loadable save is 5-6 turns before that https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1385950/035.EleSav What's more, the game actually loads those corrupted saves without getting stuck on the loading screen, it shows the game screen with my sov group in a black mist and then CTDs. Noone else has used the comput
It would be a pity to let go of what you have accomplished with FE. Being one the customers awarded FE for free after pre-purchasing Elemental:WoM, I could hardly believe how the same game was transformed to FE while staying... the same. I say, capitalize on this. The potential is there, everyone can see it. Even if it is a niche audience, the niche is there, and you have us by the... beard :-) Fantasy setting, 4X, customizable units, almost hardcore RPG due to the sovereign and heroe
Yep, same problem here. I haven't been able to load my last game. Can't remember if I started it before or after the 1.2 patch though.
In my case, it's pure 1.2 games. I even did a clear install with 1.2 since I had it uninstalled since 1.12 Never had such problems before 1.2, though admittedly, it's the 1.2 patch that gave me the "one more turn" syndrome for this game.
This is the 1.20 playthrough I have encounter this problem, and imho, it is game breaking, it should be simply fixed ASAP, especially considering all the other threads about it. In short, the saves the game produces after a specific point in the game become unloadable. The game doesn't CTD when loading but just stays idle with the loading bar stopped at a random percentage (or at least it doesn't crash for at least 5 minutes) after which I simply close the game through the "un

I think one of the main problems with the AI is the city development phase. In both 1.1 games I played I found capital and lvl3 AI cities that were full of research buildings and materials buildings. To the point that nothing else could be built since all 50 city plots were taken. You can understand how crippling that is, since until you research technologies to build command posts, archery ranges, schools, etc, you can fill up your first cities with useless buildings. And
