[quote quoting="post"]Hi As the AI is so easy to beat, even on the hardest possible setting, both world and factions, I was getting quite bored with the game in its present state. Then 20 min ago I was hit by the idea of creating the worst kind of faction led by the worst kind of sovereign. Enter the Slackers into the world of Elemental. The rejects of all the other Factions. Criminals, wastrels and other riff-raff. True cannonfodder. Strengths:<br /

So you seriously think is all part of some shadowy conspiracy against Stardock? How do you explain the fact that the average user review is just as low as the average critic review, or the fact that stardock itself has apologized for rele

I guarantee that a few of the bigger gaming companies have influenced the exaggerated negative hype especially with reviews. Basically if Stardock wasn't known for producing top-quality games and was more like most other gaming companies that regularly put out inferior products then the review wouldn't be so negative? The game is no worse than most other games upon release. And unlike other games and companies we have had nothing but a earnest attempts(6patches in two weeks)by Stardock t

[quote who="redskull2" reply="196" id="2754872"]so the criticism falls into 2 catagories: 1. the game is broken and not finished: this is a simple one. The game has horrible game stopping bugs, performance issues and is a bear to play. Or at least was, I haven't played 1.07 yet to see how they have improved the performance. I personally am sitting on the fence whether I want to try out the most recent patch. It might be an improvement but it do I care? the reason I probably don't i

Some people are never happy. Just play the game or not it is your choice. I choose to play it and like it even though it's not perfect. Been playing computer games even before the commodore 64 when computer games were played using a cassette tape mostly Avalon Hill games and I have yet to play the perfect game nevertheless a perfect game upon release.

Just want to take the time to thank Stardock and all their people for giving me imho a great game. Did it have a few hiccups upon release sure it did, but name me any game(never mind one has complex and has ambitious has this one) today that isn't? The game is everything I could want in a PC game, fantasy theme, city&civilization building, Roleplaying, unit customization, etc, etc, etc, just refreshing in this day and age of Shoot'em up shooter's and console degredation. Stardock may

[quote who="Nenjin" reply="16" id="2732249"] Hmm that is interesting maybe the map and environment is keyed to what you the player is doing mostly. I've watched the strongest AI in one game march circles around monster packs that could have flattened my army and their's. I don't know if monsters fight the other players. I don't know who they're fighting, for that matter, to lose any of that HP. But at Level 3 Adventuring, the Kraxis player had probably 6 units out with a

[quote who="Nenjin" reply="11" id="2732185"]So far this is why I research adventure slowly, when I'm ready. It's the only counter, and you'll still get hit with a lot of monsters, but they'll be low level, and you can fortify some guys if they're near your borders and the monsters will just throw themselves at them. I really LIKE the mechanic they've set up, it just needs some tweaking and some more variables added into it. Like, it needs to consider population density vs. space. O

[quote quoting="post"]So the guys at the Gamestop by me said that they don't have Elemental in stock at all, nor do they expect to be getting any. Even worse, they offered me the Sims 3 as a replacement. I sarcastically said "Oh yeah, that'll do" before laughing all the way to the exit. Kinda sucks that they aren't carrying it, but then again, their PC section was essentially StarCraft 2, WoW, the Sims and about four other games, so... yeah. They

To be fair, I seem to recall Blizzard releasing a couple of other games between Starcraft 1 and 2. I think one was some sort of monthly pay multiplayer fantasy thing. It's a little like asking...did Star

I agree with the essence of your post that gaming reviews are a total farce, but I really wish people would stop spewing this particular line of ignorance.
