I used to belong to the crowd of "the developers should have lower end machines so that they will make the game perform better on crappy machines." That's all well and good, but we spend a lot more time actually working on the game as opposed to testing, and particularly during crunch time, you don't want your machine to be chugging.
qft. Game Devs should (and sometimes do) have top of the line systems to use. The systems really pay for themselves in t
Yeah they need to adjust that part of the ai. Its needs to see neutral mines as a higher priority then it does. Its just such a huge lead. They do it on insane too which is silly. Insane is getting 2x resources they should want those mines more then ever.
you mean 'unfair' right? ;p
what about maps?
Same place, just 'Galaxy' instead. for vista: C:/Users/**Your User**/App Data/Local/Ironclad Games/Sins of a Solar Empire/Galaxy Also note, for using maps with the 1.09 beta, you have to change the version number of the maps to '2'. This can be done by: 1) Right click on flie. 2) Select 'open with' and then choose 'notepad' 3) The top line(s) will read 'Version Number' and you change the number. 4)

While I was on a vacation, I only had 256kbps internet speed. This caused many errors in downloading and connecting. My suggestion is to make sure your using at least 512kbps or if you can, 1mbps. I was able to play other online fps games, but they had some lag. Impulse on the other hand, had a lot more lag, and would constantly disconnect while updating sins to the beta. I believe its a bandwidth problem, with packets being lost. Try switching to the 'new download mechanism' as that helped a lo
Our tentative date for the final version of Sins of a Solar Empire v1.1 is mid September.Did I missread it?Yes you misread it. (psst misread has one s ) That is just developer speak for saying that the Last version of 1.1 (aka no longer a beta) will be available. That being said, I wonder if they are gonna push out another version of the Beta for us before then. Or if they have decided the feedback that they received was enough and are proceeding from here.
i'm pretty sur
Do you know if they plan on adding one, or if impulse 2 will add it?
The next versions of impulse will be implementing it. A while back, the community tried to establish a clan and ranking system, but i'm not sure how far they got.

how about a 4v4 map, where the map is perfectly symmetrical. half on the top, half on bottom. the border between the teams is the horizontal equator of the map, and includes the sun and pirate base. there could also be worm holes leading from the border-rim worlds, to the back of each team's territory, as an easy way to send troops to the front. (its just the first random idea that came to mind)
To patch to 1.05, you can download a standalone update. (Google or something, I don't remember where it is.)To go beyond 1.05, such as the current 1.1 Beta patch, you have to use Impulse from impulsedriven.com and register the game through there.
the 'official' way to patch to 1.05 is to register the game, click the 'update game' button in the in-game main menu, and then sign-in to this site, and download it. it was supposed to stop piracy, by making sure you have an offi
Ugh, this should NOT be done. Ever.Halo is a repetitive, boring fps with a cheesy storyline and characters filled with a preteen crowd of brats with no friends and adhd. It's an overplayed over hyped game that's only fun at parties.
ouch. Just because you don't like it, you shouldn't put it down. Nobody's forcing you to play it.
Just to note: This was meant to be a reply to the Halo Mod thread.
noted.
