Trust me! Impulse is the best... why: 1. you dont have to be online to play singleplayer or LAN... on steam when my net is down... i cant play 2. you can have the game on many computers... possible with steam but you can wipe your savegames.... 3. you have unlimited download ... for ever... or until impulse closes down... wont happen 4. it allows modding of game files.. steam does not!

I think its cool, especially if there was some mini or browser game to come out...but is it anymore than just flavor to the points? That or you get them all on new character creations? :)
As an addition since it has come up several times, please do not try to get points for wishlists on both EBGames.com and Gamestop.com. Both sites are the same company and share the same database, so you will only get credit for one or the other.
ROFL, ok I'm guilty. I didn't know they were the same. But I was viewing unacom's quests...saw ebgames as one of his points, so did it myself. I'm going to guess we're all g

Don't get me wrong, I'd still refer them because I am super excited about this game, but I do feel the system is flawed.
I've noticed a lot of that as well. But it

What exactly does this mean? Meaning the first person to link an article and "digg it" is the only person who can get credit? Neither had I, but now I'm glad I found out about it. My
Guess this just comes to the philosophy...which is more important? Winning a battle or the war? If it was any other developer, it would be on both DD sites. However, its on one. So does this product contribute more to $ by getting more distribution...or contribute more by keeping it in-house? Two thoughts: both. :) My perspective 1) I didn't know impulse existed until Sins Entrentchment. Since I was a steam player first, I buy 99% of my
Valve wouldn't put their games on Impulse in the first place because they control significantly more DD market share.
Exactly, nothing wrong with being #2. And I am sure steam is confortable with its lead. So why wouldn't they want to sell a soon-to-be-great game and make some $ off that? Its still good business without risk of losing market share. Steam-ers will remain steam-ers...BUT this coul

Thanks ID for the update and that is good news!
*ducks from flying objects* But, seriously...steam (as per Stardock CEO) has 70% of the digital distribution market. That's a lot of players. There is also a LOT of steam-only people out there. So by not publishing, even to a rival, means potential loss of a lot of players. I'll even volunteer to run the Elemental official group and assist moderate the forums. I just would like as many people as possible for multiplayer games. But put aside the fact t
I apologise ky ogre. You are correct that I cannot see your comments and to my perception, which I admit now is wrong, it did appear to be a wtf in my eyes. I apreciate and respect you took the time to respond and clarify. I'd share a major mana potion with ya at the bar anytime. :) Overall apologies to fellow gamers and staff. Just wanted to point our my perception, which I know was not your intention.
Ok, as you know from my previous posts I was really looking forward to this as it was fun. However, I see that its fatally flawed and will be difficult to win. 1) The number of submissions has to be overwhelming, so near impossible to QA 2) I have done as some other "top people" have done and hosted the videos and made links. They got points, I didn't. So, maybe that's not valid anymore...but they retained their points. (and they keep reposting
They are covering and monitoring, I will admit I tried to submit a cheesy reply as a quest reward. I got 0 points! So, to make sure you qualify make sure there is content that will educate, guide, or assist people when they read it. So, being a troll will NOT get you anything other than arthritis here! Plus, it helps keep the forums clean with good posts! I was kind of worried myself of people just posting for points sake.
Doh, that's aweful. I've noticed people shooting up 200+ points quickly...almost makes me fear that's what happened. Maybe an audit and removal would be warranted. Otherwise, while fun, this event will be hard to compete honestly with. :( I know I've gained all my points from real/warrented events.

Ok, so I first saw the "Join the Army" link and said, hrm...could be fun. Now I look at it like a crack addict as its completely fun and addicting.
