A comparison with MoM is hard for any game to withstand (IMHO). The wizard customization in MoM was extremely well designed. The limited flexibility made each choice difficult and enhanced differentiation between playthroughs. The races were unique and balanced. To be honest, the closest anyone came to recreating the feel of MoM was Derek Paxton's Fall from Heaven II. I was en-heartened to hear that he was hired to work on this project. The mini-battle

I am willing to try 1.4. I am encouraged by the fact that the developers continued to invest in this game, given the negativity surrounding it (much of which I must say was deserved). I pre-purchased this game, hoping to fund the development of a spiritual successor to Master of Magic. Honestly, I don't think this game compares to Master of Magic, but I was heartened by the inclusion of Kael on the development team (his FFH & FFH2 mod for Civ IV was the best thing to

As I have given my sovereign the organized trait, I wanted him to have a Journeyman's Cloak to increase the speed of his party. Surprise, surprise, he cannot purchase or wear the cloak. I tried having Janusk buy the cloak and trade it to the sovereign, but when I checked my sovereign's inventory, the cloak was not there. This also affects other cloaks provided by the equipment research tech.

I have experienced this bug as well. These kennels have been "building" for approximately 75 turns. Due to the negative combat speed implications of full plate armour, this makes heavy units (with the ability to move and fight) impossible to train. Notem Batem: It is a common misconception that plate armour was cumbersome. Note this excerpt from Wikipedia on full plate armour. "While it looks heavy, a full plate armour set could be as light as only 20 kg (4

I encountered this as well. It seems that movement has been switched with combat speed in tactical battles. While Janusk has a movement speed of 2, he only has a combat speed of 0.5. When in tactical battles, however, this is switched, which effectively roots Janusk on the spot. I read in another post that these two values have been linked. As is evident from gameplay, this is extremely detrimental and not reflective of a character`s actual stats. These stats need

I believe these problems could be overcome by a "point and hook" system. Each trait would be assigned points relevant to its potential and the strength of the trait. For example, Horse familiarity could be worth 10 points, while Horse Lords would be worth 50 points. This point system is utilized by Warhammer to create enhanced moddability while maintaining balance for multi-player. With regards to the AI utilization of these traits, hooks can be implemented which

Good-Day, During my current game I captured an AI city that happened to have the same name as one of my other cities (Ares). When I tried to reinforce the city, my units ended up at the orginal city of Ares, instead of the destination city also named Ares. This was consistent and I found that I was left with a nearly empty city. When this city upgraded, I chose the "Random Guardian" upgrade in an effort to garrison the city. Subesequently, these "guardian u

Yes, I did. Unfortuneately I seem to be having a few problems with this forum :) For some reason I don't seem to have problems with the Paradox Interactive forums. I wish there was a way to delete you own posts...

I fully support using essence to imbue land, objects, and heroes. I also like the slider idea. I believe if you utilize wisdom to determine the maximum spell power (as it is implied), this would fix the spellcasting problem. I agree that if you want to cast, say summon minor earth elemental at a cost of 16 mana, then spending your essence to imbue things makes it nearly impossible to obtain enough mana to do so.

Good-Day, Please forgive my ignorance, but how do you form an army? I seem to have difficulty grouping units. UPDATE: I figured it out. It just wasn't quite so clear that the units were grouped at first
