I like the lifetime expansions but, by putting in that line you're already promising that the game will ship feeling incomplete and will be patched. One of the main reasons I haven't picked up Civ 5 is the complete lack of enthusiasm of picking up a game and then getting the full experience delivered piecemeal via rather expensive expansions.
I can see how people can have this attitude (I disagree though, you pay, you get

If you want the strategy you should go for GalCiv2, it's turn based, so you have time to think about everything. With Sins being real time, it can't have as much depth as GalCiv2, we just wouldn't have time to manage it all. I've only played Sins briefly so far so I don't know it in great detail but unless you want a change from turn based games, then I think GalCiv2 is the one you want to try.

I've been playing on Tiny to get a feel for the ZYW strategy. I just managed an 8th April win. Had a bit of luck with the research bonuses on my planet so had the spore ship around the end of Feb. However, the AI had an extra colony on first week of march and had a third colony ship on it's way to another planet. Thankfully I was able to have spore ships sitting waiting until 1st April at the two colonized planets and the AI wasn't going to get it's 3rd colony until 15th

I've tried a few on suicidal now and scoring much better :) Main problem I have just now is that the enemy always manages to get a colony out, just can't stop them :( I've had a look through the thread and people are saying that there shouldn't any colonizable planets available for the enemy but with or without minor races there are always one or two and he (Thalan) get's to them just before I can attack his homeworld. I have everything set on rare and tec

Just played my first Metaverse game and managed a ZYW. Only scored 8k though, so I've got some way to go to get the scores I've been seeing in this thread!!

I'm having a few similar problems creating a Metaverse character. Initially I wasn't adding a serial number, however I'm now entering my Endless Universe serial and it won't accept it - the message says that either serial isn't valid or isn't registered, however when I follow the link to register it, the registration page won't accept the serial (my original Dread Lords serial was there already). I can't get Endless Universe registered through Impulse either, so i

If that is the case, then I may get that ordered. Not finished the Dread Lords game yet, so had been holding off, but at that price it's too good to turn down :) I assume that it will patch up with all the latest updates and there would be nothing lost from Dreadlords if playing that version instead of buying the two seperate expansions?

It's £14.99 on Play.com However, not sure what it actually is, according to the description " Endless Universe builds on the epic story, following on from Dark Avatar and Twilight of Arnor", so it sounds like it's something that comes after the two expansions.
