Err... I now share the common disappointment about magic system... more on that separately. Socketboy, most of what you are asking is interface issue, not the magic itself. Also... building a character for certain schools isn't THAT much of a gamble. Books can be researched (although that is somewhat a gamble) and shards can be found later. On top of that there are spells that need no shards and even schools without shards associated with them.

I took my time to play around with magic. That completely messed-up my head... I was sure we can use essence to create fertile grounds... turns out we can't... BUT, we can use it to make the ground green, now that's something... or nothing... since cities can do the same at the cost of 1 pioneer. Imbue champion looks like another waste... a separate from your own mana pool isn't worth splitting a consolidated mana pool... Ok, I admit it, essence system is in a
I'm afraid not. The primary purpose of your Dynasty in Elemental is to forge alliances with other players and gain champions who already are imbued with essence. This is a system we can look at expanding in the future but what you mention isn't within the scope we envisioned. Feel free to suggest ideas though because I think the system has a lot of growth potential.
Erm then how come they aren't

Funny to see this turn into into "read ME!" battle grounds... Anyway some of those sound bizarre especially the one "don't let me research spells". Gee... I have to rapidly hamster meself some magic and see why everyone's so disappointed about current system. Either I'm missing something or I have entirely different expectations of magic.

I have to disagree, well only partially but still, Essence IS available on a decent level or at least can be with a bit more tweaking of numbers. There are Essence potions or whatever those are called they add .5 essence to sovereign. I've had +2 essence in 10 to 20 turns simply from errand quests. THAT means 2 fertile grounds for example. Heck, that's worth something. Think about adding that to a city with 2 more food sources, food enhancing buildings and food specialization. It's hutfest ti

I hope she doesn't look as plain as her name - otherwise she might have that "Ugly" trait and you wouldn't get 16 kids But, yeah, genetics - with a degree of randomness/ unexpected results , would be pretty cool. Buffing Up buffs is imho work for later stages. When balance is less abstract and less obscured than now. I believe that current focus is more on principles than on details. Buffs work, they help, they are "eligible for fun". Making them fun and balanced will be done in due time. Yep, spells are a pain to select once you have a bunch, but right click is a tad to royal for them. Maybe something with CTRL or some other "shiftstate", but then again, AFAIK SD delays interface till the act

Wait a mango... errr... mate a winet... errr... whatever... to much posting for me today... What I meant to ask isn't there supposed to be only one of those? I never saw ANY "wild game" extractors because I never took hunter. Are you sure there's one for everybody?

You may want to try adding -w command line parameter. That'll allow you to kill the process or to make the firewall rule on the fly. (that's what I did when my firewall got bossy, since I wasn't feeling like adding the rule manually.

1. Most of it really requires more intuitiveness, but I disagree on some points. I'd prefer current interface to daily pop-up. There is Hiergamenon or whatever it's called, which is an in-game encyclopedia... except it likes to give you crashes instead of information on 50/50 basis. Also I'm concerned with auto-something features. Auto switch just pisses me off at times, and auto turn can leave me without a recruit. I'd like some override functions or

Hmm... WAAAAY back when i played FW demo I liked how the small battles go, but once i got to bigger ones... it was too much of a hassle to keep every damn unit healthy, and I couldn't stand loosing them for 1-2 more hits when there are enough healthy warriors nearby to win without those sacrifices. I never gave that game another chance. Actually, now that you mentioned it, I even doubt that tactical battles will improve elemental. Think about it - this game is long enough with

Well, I understand the thrill of "who's next out of our alliance?" question and diplomatic backplay that it brings along. But I think that this can be accomplished by simply setting up "allied victory" option like it was in SoaSE. Actually, does this game even have "official" allied victory at this stage? As for importance of avoiding Xv1... this game is set up on uncapped resources (only essence and starting advantage differentiate between 2 players and 1 stronger player in terms of

Hard to decipher your English at times , but still... 1. If you have everything then building will be in the color of your kingdom/empire. If you do not have something it needs building will be gray. In this case put your mouse over something you can not build and look for red numbers. This is what you need to have to build. Put your mouse on it and a pop-up will tell what it is. 2. If you did not understand Marks - You do not <
