i don't know wow or silent hunter 4, but of the other two civ 4 should work in a 2d card and spore wants a 3d but works in a gf5200 which is a similar vintage to your 2600, BUT sins works in an integrated cideo card in laptops, as far as load on a system the cpu workload appears least with civ4, then spore and sins most cpuload. another thought might be the cpu heatlocking on you, sorry but it is trail and error to solve this harpo

[quote who="Blair Fraser" reply="16" id="2055536"] quoting posti find the pace of sins to be painfully slow ;l if im playing sins am also doing any combination of the following to cope with the down time involved: watching a movie, talking on the phone, folding clothes, cooking, playing guitar, studying when 1.1 beta came out i was so excited that they beefed up the speed to be damn near unmanagable (in others words not mine) my only complaint with the speed wa

I agree with your suspision of the video card, but I think it might be the powersupply not having enough spare capacity, I have seen articals on the web that suggest power supplies can lose up to 30% or their rated power rating in one year due to component aging. the 4870 wants at least 170watts fo the card, each hard drive wants at least 10 watts, the cpus can use from 40 to 160watts the motherboards can use 20 to 80 watts, the opto drives want up to 30 watts so I would sugge
for the mods folder on vista/w7 it should be c:\users\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\mods for xp it should be C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\mods if you do not see the mods folder with one or more folders with the name of the mods in the folder name then the mod were extracted to the wrong location. if you only see rar files then you need to e

the nvidia quadro cards are designed for serious use not gaming, but the latest drivers for the card are at http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x64_181.20.html, btw the geforce family of nvidia cards are the gaming cards, but several people seem to be having problems with sins & nvidia, and I do not have any idea why, as I have several computers with different video cards from an old geforce 7600, 8600gt, 8800gt,6600 and an ati 4850, the only prbs that show up for me are running out of
