I am experiencing the same problem, will try the /w trick when I get home...I assume you can give arguments to start menu shortcuts? (no desktop icon) Windows XP pro SP3 I had assumed that it was the computer as it is in the process of slowly and painfully dying. Works fine on the laptop with Vista.

Two things are screaming at me right now in the beta. 1) disparity between the information displayed on the cloth map and 3D world Some resources are not being displayed on the 2D map that I can see on the 3D map. Usually this is near the edges of the Fog of War, but not always, some goodie huts don't appear on the 2D map. Furthermore it would be nice to be able to control the point at whi
I rather disagree with OsirisDawn. We will see how the final game turns out but currently the only way to really cover all aspects of the game is to city spam. I mean if you want to be strong in research, magic, military and economy (and frankly why wouldn't you?) you needs lots of cities. The scaling is a bit out I think. I really love the ability of a small empire/country/realm/whatever to hold its own if it can isolate itself or hold a choke po
I am a sad panda :( I was desperately hoping this was going to be the next we-go game. Guess I am going to have to mod it. Oh, and everything that was said about square base turn based tile systems +1. The problem with turn based is while it allows you to think about what you are doing it ends up being far far FAR FARR!!! to bloody gamey. all sorts
Please please please make WE GO an option. I don't really care if its laser squad nemesis or combat mission styled. But please don't give the advantage to the person who moves fastest, which is the problem with simultaneous games in CIV. In a play by email (not sure if this is on the cards) I truly think you need to be able to review what orders are being sent. In a real time (everyone online at the same time) game having th
. [My English is not the best, so please forgive me, if there are some spelling/grammatical errors in my post ]
actually mate thats one of englishes main strengths, you have to actually try to write it badly for it to be hard to understand. Its fairly insensitive to gramatical errors. (unless of course someone wants to point out your errors, in which case its a bloody nightmare) in short
quoting postBut this confusion has been with us for a long time. Look at this old journal post. Brad keeps referring to turns and real-time as if the two systems are interchangable. I've been reading that journal and thinking - you know, Brad may be right in that they can be interchangeable. Look at this line in particular: The idea is that you zoom in to a given battle and you see all your units there. From there, you
If you are doing the second beta in a few months (the first one is cloth map only so it won't affect this) you can see if this really is a problem and tell SD if it is (that's what betas are for).
oh I will, I'm looking forward to it cause I'm not the sort of person who usually pushes things so I'm always happy to get a dev response to something I raise. I usually just move on to a new game if I think something is an issue and it do
thanks for that Piccy Coffeemonkey ya put my worries to rest. Thanks for the response CodeCritter the zoom does seem to be part of it.
nah not really good enough. I am well aware of where the game is in terms of development. btw my impression is that the engine is almost finished, and that development was now based on gameplay. Be that as it may how do you address the problem? lets assume that everything else in the game is complete how do you address this lack of apparent transition from flat to slope? I think it is an artifact of the art style (which I think is great on the whole) an
Right now I have a big problem with how elemental displays elevation. I realise we are looking at stills and if the camera is moveable and rotatable we will be able to move it and get an understanding of it. But right now looking at the stills I find it really hard to see where the hills start. ok now sorry I linked to IGN, would like to link them in here but im feeling incompetant http://uk.pc.ign.com/dor/objects/14295360/elemental-war-of-magic/images/elemental
