it will help to make the quest linear and simplify the leveling up so we don't have to make as many choices too. finally, remove the diversity of items
This was all added in version 1.00 [e digicons]O:)[/e]
I think, for starters, the first expansion pack for Elemental - Book 2, will have to be given away for free to the people who already bought the game. In my mind, that's a START. So, anyone who sticks with is going to get at least one free expansion pack out of it. And it won't be some piddly "look, it's a new campaign". Think Dark Avatar level expansion.
This, along with your other po

I would highly recommend reading the stickies around the forums about the various tech trees and what they do. In the absence of a tutorial or an in-depth manual those posts will be your best bet for learning the game. This is especially true if you don't have much experience with 4X strategy games and don't want to learn it through some trial and error. To me it sounds like you're not paying enough attention to the warfare tech tree(which is where you will find the qualit

You state at the end of your rant that the game will "suck your life away when it is fixed" ,yet you seem offended that it is not up to your standards now. I think you just like to bitch and think the world owes you your perfect gold standard. I think you should make a complex and difficult to program game yourself since you' re so fucking good.
War of Magic is the best new game to come out in years and I've been playing computer games since their inception.
You've evidently missed the last five years of PC gaming then, even if all you like to play is 4x. I have to agree in that I would like to know what this reviewer was smoking. 9/10 may be realistic in 6 months or a year, but unless you're just giving points for potential the game ranks at more like a 6/10 right now due to missing mechanics, disfunctional/broken elements, or mechanics that need massive overhauls. For me it has nothing to do w/ performance issues at this point(although those would be nice to have worked out as well). I enjoy the game and I love St

I for one appreciate the note, and am reassured that my investment in your latest product will pay off down the road. I particularly appreciate your sentiment that game features will be added free of charge until the majority of the community feels we have a finished product that we're willing to re-invest in with a paid expansion. I hope that you will also consider expanding the mod tools so the community can help with additional mechanics and fixes.

Its not out yet, and its still a bit different genre. Sorry, but the problem all of you miss is that there are NO 'other new titles', neither in this year, nor in next.
Which category?
I object to anyone suggesting that SD does not deserve awards for EWOM.. The game is good looking and fun to play, even with all its faults. Once the technical issues are resolved it will not take long to balance things up.. If not for the issues hanging over it, EWOM would be a superior game for both vanilla settings and the potential of the modding. My suggestion is to make the best mods you can if you have fun doing it, and it may lead to a position in the industry or even at Stardock. I would not hold your breath though on any company, even a smaller one like Stardock, allowing you to make money off of their product. There are enough people willing to give the game additional features and life for free as a hobby. This actually happened to a couple of the top modders for Thief 2: The Metal Age(The entire Thief serie

It would be good if they added functionality on your dynasty tree where if you doubleclick their icon it will auto-center the screen on the tile where that hero is located.

Reality check folks: Elemental has the potential to be a great game...a classic game...but it is unfinished, and what we're playing now is what many people who do testing would recognize as a beta build. Is that necessarily a bad thing? No. Is it a little disappointing to spend $50 and find out that you've essentially bought into a paid beta/open design phase? Yup. It's good that the game is at least finished enough to offer some entertainment, with

Star Trek Online is a joke, AoE had adequate testing and polish and notice how the really big dogs, th

Like the above poster said, put them in a town and they'll regen quickly. I would, however, be supportive of a "rest" option for units where they can regen health in the field, but perhaps take a 30% defense hit if they are attacked while resting.
Quoting surlybob, reply 17 I'm playing Elemental, and I am quite satisfied with it's "state". Any software product takes time, effort and resources to bring to its full potential. I find it unreasonable for you to expect a small company to produce a game that starts out with as much "polish" as a massive company. I don't know why you're satisfied with a game in which, demonstrably, a sizable chu

Did you include the dashes? I did not include them the first time and I got the same error, but it worked after I went back in and inserted them. Otherwise, e-mail Stardock. I know a couple of people on here who purchased at Best Buy were having issues with this.

I agree with the overall sentiment presented in the responses here. The game was obviously rushed out the door, and while it is playable it is certainly not "finished." I'm a huge lover of all things Stardock...I recommend their products whenever I can, I recommend the company whenever I can, but seeing so many people argue that the game is largely fine and just needs minor tweaking astounds me. Reality check to those few: The game is certainly still fun and m

Yeah, I'm all patched up and the father was not Snathi. I'll see if I can take a screenie here in a sec However, I did run into Snathi in another village, and him combined with 4 other people had a combined total of 14,000 attack >.

Alright...I've seen a couple of posts sort of relating to this, but nothing this drastic. My dauther was born with over 200 hp, and 700 str. In my army of 4 other units the combined attack power is over 50, 000. Is this a bug? Or is it an actual possibility to have children with stats this insane from level 1?
