Yes, sometimes finding other people can be problematic, but that's not exactly a game issue, it's a person issue. There are plenty of us who work full time (I work 12 hour shifts, (3/12's) and still make the effort. I promise, playing against people is worth the effort. Not even referring to GC3 specifically- AI is generally garbage, in nearly every game. That's why AI difficulties are always setup to provide massive bonuses to the AI. It's the only w
Actually you can't. It may seem from the UI that you can, but if you try to build on the blank space, the Xeno Factory icon still only goes over the upgradable factory. At least that's what happened when I tried it last week.
It's also what happened when I tried a few minutes ago, attempting to reproduce the OP's issue. Are you doing anything else to generate this bug, OP?
Except if you click that "upgrade" for building, it should auto-queue onto the existing building, and you won't be given the chance to place a new one. It's normal for upgrades to show up in the building queue list. Xeno is an upgrade to existing factories. You always have to build the basic factory first. Mega factories upgrade xeno factories.
The odd thing is all the reviews that highly rate this game. The AI has serious deficiencies still.
My only real complaint about this is the fact that, from the perspective of someone who predominantly plays 4X/Strategy games against living people and not AI, I've always felt the AI in *every game* since the 80's has had serious deficiencies, and has essentially never improved. Does this one have -worse-
I'm not entirely sure if this is a glitch or just something that may have been overlooked, but I've been playing a match nightly with a friend, and we've noticed that while my govern settings for planets remains the same from when we quit and load the next day, my friend has to completely redo all of his governing settings for all of his planets with each reload, as if his settings aren't being saved. After a little testing, it seems the 'host' Govern set
I too would like a code if someone has a spare one they won't be using. I was following this game forever but recently got layed off (literally a week before release) before I could buy it. Now I'm on what you'd call a tight budget =_= Back to work though. So, anyone? :D I'd really appreciate it.
Out of curiousity, will you guys be responding to the emails you send out, so that we know you received our information?
Anything yet, guys?
Guys, I ordered mine online too, but I think the point of the contest is to show the product at a retail chain.. because it's a pain for good indy companies to get into brick and mortar stores. That's why I went down to Fry's to take the pic, despite having bought it online.
Don't disqualify me for my picture being up and down randomly- my web server's fan went out! lol I'm replacing it tonight.
OH! And guess what Ironclad! Every Gamestop I know of in the Las Vegas/ North Las Vegas area is SOLD OUT of Sins! They've had dozens of requests for it, too! One guy got mad at me saying I kept calling asking for it o_O
Alright! I hope I made it in the top 20! Full sized image is at http://www.darkfalls.net/candi.jpg This was taken at the Fry's Electronics on Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada! She and I both love the game! Great job guys!
Cause you can sit back and build a nice defense, then build up a strike force and then kick some butt. That's the general idea.
Ok, humor me. So you're saying is, turtling should be a valid tactic, because it delays the game, and ends up in the same result? You build an army and attack the opponent? Turtling has always struck me as bad game design. This isn't Stronghold. You win by killing your opponent, not an economic or point victory. <
Out of curiosity, why is turtling considered a "valid tactic" ? Can you win the game any other way than killing your opponent?
de·feat /dɪˈfit/ [di-feet] –verb (used with object)
Yep, you win the internet arguement. GG. ^_^
Prof if your only argument for a nerf is that it doesnt cater to those who are completely devoid of skill with the game (aka they bought it a few days ago and are understandably not idiot savants) then you really need to put a little more time into mastering your games instead of complaining to have them reduced down to the level of baby einstein puzzles.
QFT.
= Siege frigate rushes are NO DIFFERENT. It's a cheesy tactic that has no real functionality against ANYONE who sees it coming. It's ONLY good at killing newbies. Like flash tank rushing in TA, or zerg rushing in SC. This game is FAR more tactical, and even an HOUR of commitment to learning can teach you how to counter this "killer strategy" that ProfC absolutely refuses to accept. Funny, I thought you all ag
Could the bomber siege have been easily stopped by fighters though, or was Tokyo caught totally off guard? That is, would a commander with fighters under his command have been easily able to stop the raid?
Yeah, actually. Tokyo was just caught off guard, because we used long range bombers launched from carriers that weren't supposed to carry them. Siege frigate rushes are NO DIFFERENT. It's a cheesy tactic that has no
There have been plenty of battles in history, or even wars, and never, not once, was there a well co-ordinated plunge into weak areas of an enemy's territory consisting only of siege units.
Oh really? So world war 2 never happened? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombing_of_Tokyo_in_World_War_II Or are BOMBERS not considered siege units in our day and age? Not only that, NONE OF THEM CAME BACK.
Oh master of Sins, please continue to share your great wisdom of video games and their development processes with us! Us ignorant newbies could not live without YOU here to explain the mysteries of our "epic failures." Since Ironclad and Stardock certainly must agree with your total dominating brilliance, will you not continue to impart more of it upon us?
I accept your challenge, knave.
There isn't. That's the problem. You can deflect all you pl
You guys are quite the duo. Not only are you both vastly superior skill-wise then everyone else
Maybe it's a conspiracy? Maybe we're hacking? Maybe we don't jump to the conclusion that we are so good at this game, that within two days of release we know ALL tactics we lose to must be imbalanced, and NOT our own failure? No, that makes too much sense.
Bitter much?
*nibbles on arm* Hmm, I don't TASTE bitter... so you must be failing to use this in a conversation based method, and clearly have no understanding of what being "bitter" is. Cest la vie. Woohoo! Knee jerk nerfs to people who haven't had time to figure out how the interface works little alone build orders and tactics, but insist they're right! Alright!
Nah, it's pretty typical for an RTS launch, Spartan. I've been playing them since Dune, and despite my hope that this game CLEARLY STATING it's a "4X" game and people would realize that, apparently there will always be the people who don't.
