That was the windows version I believe the original GalCiv was released earlier on the OS2 platform.

I think this is an excellent idea to still be able to exploit the reasources in your territory without having to build cities next to every forest, iron deposit, or farmland that is enclosed within your borders.
Interesting ideas I don't know if the economy system is already set in stone but this could definently help make the reasource managing easier.
NOOOOO!!!! Now who will complete elemental?
of course by the time that everyone is over to 64 bit computing then 128 bit will come around...
Or units that are capable of flight or units with flying mounts.
Leinad, as much as I wish otherwise, FS2 sadly can't be added to this list, since kyogre is looking for games released this decade, starting January 1st, 2000.
I was expecting that but a guy can dream can't he? Besides Homeworld 2 I think that a game that truly deserves a sequal but will probably never get it is Freespace 2... Unless Stardock would want to take up the reigns? (A guy can dream can't he?) <
Alright I know that Space Combat sims were mostly worthless the last decade but one game has to be added to that list Freespace 2. released in 1999 (within 10 years of now right?) it is probably the best space combat sim out there and deserves to be on the list.
Common Midwest Winters aren't all that bad. They can actually be kinda fun. Where else besides Michigan that you have a chance to go Snowmobiling during Spring Break?

I'm betting on Friday any takers?
Correction if this is anything like the begginning of the Gal Civ 2 beta then it will not really be fun. There will be alot of crashes, missing content, simplistic gameplay, and overall an unfinished product (hence the beta term). The fun comes later in beta 3 and 4 after beta testers have helped Stardock iron out the bugs and at that point content from Stardock and features requested from the beta testers begins to come in in earnest and you begin to see something that looks like a finished
It'll be good to get back into the Stardock Beta Process again. Last time I did a beta for them was with the original Galciv2.
I hope this game makes it, I havn't been this excited about an RTS since I saw the trailure for Supreme Commander and saw how big the maps were. If Stardock could publish this game, wow, talk about next big hit.
Short answer: Bad idea. Why is that? Basically I see two possible options for those buildings: The same buildings always has the same shape (can also be used as an advantage / disadvantage: e.g. Faction A has especially small archeries) Depending on the city location or plain randomness building sizes differ Option 1. would require the player to figure out an '
I definently like the way this idea is sounding I would think that an option for a leader to provide incentives for people to move towards certain areas that are strategically important such as offering 10 gold per settler for people to move into a demon/monster infested region that just so happens to have lots of valuable ore to be mined. Granted normally people wouldn't ever think of going to such a region but if you offer enough gold people may be willing to take on more risks. Also there
because of your damn game, you'll just kill the 32bit OS?
And its about time if you ask me, we should just switch over to completely 64 bit OS with windows 7 so that more programs (and not just games) can reap the benefits of the expanded memory that a 64bit OS brings.
Interesting take I wonder what would be the armaggedon spell for regular land based humans? Or would they be considered too good and thus would not be able to have access to the armmeggedon spell?
