[quote who="Yarlen" reply="167" id="2885094"] Another thing: Even though capital abilities are supposed to do 75% damage to other capital ships, Damage over time abilities seem to be doing 100% damage to other capital ships. In other words, when comparing kol GRG to death egg deathy of death... the nanites are doing 100% of their advertised damage straight to the hull, while kol GRG has to get though ~60% shield mitigation AND armor, AND *.75 damage multiplier. I discussed this wit

Darvin is it possible they do this outside the range of armistice? I never noticed armistice not working for strike craft and given their speed and the fact that people are less likely to specifically tell them to stay in range of armistice they might just leave it to keep fighting.
While 20 might be low I think 45 is a little high.
95% of the time you want the Halcyon for your starter cap.
The bug Sanchezz is talking about does exist I run into it about in about 1/8th of the 4v4 or 5v5 online matches I play. There is a rare bug where your ships will try to get to another grav well by using their normal engines instead of jumping. The advent carrier cap will not gain a squadron until you leave a magnetic cloud (if you're in one) when you put skill points in the ability that gives it more strike craft squadrons
I believe that they use the Hexadecimal system, effectively making the letters numbers, so it shouldn't make a difference if a character is a letter or number as long as it's one of the 16 characters in this numeral system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexadecimal
A few people asked for one of these replays so i thought i would upload them. In 01062204 I'm Vasari I killed Gonzo then proceeded to get a really strong economy; however the map was unusually good for what I did; so if you try to do the same don't expect to do as well. In 01171623 I'm TEC and is a standard example of how a TEC in eco postion should play. Link to Download http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7NTJCXH3
here are 2 things that I do sometimes 1. if I'm in a hurry to tell my ships to focus fire on one target (or a chain of more then one) and I don't have them in ctrl groups i will select then all tell then who i want them to attack then tell the Hoshiko to stop this will make them go back to repairing. 2. if I'm worried about my repair ships not repairing a key ship or structure i will manually tell them to repair it, otherwise I will leave them on auto even though this isn't op
fighters wont help much vs 100 flak
Light frigates are good vs both carriers and flak although with the numbers you're talking about you would need something like 200+ of them.
They are very useful, just hard to get and maintain in a multiplayer game; most games you are better off focusing on your opponent then getting pacts. Generally the only time I get pacts is when I am TEC and in eco position with someone else who will benefit from the pacts also. Cost of Pacts: 1. Labs (Money and Logistic slots) 2. Envoys (Factory time, Money and Fleet supply) 3. Tech (Money) 4. Time (In the short term ships will give you a g
Here is a replay of a game played a few days ago, it's not a perfect game strategically, but it should give you some strategy's you can use. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UIIJQ9WX There really isn't any one size fits all build order for any of the races, it is mostly dependent on the map and player start locations, and what your opponent does. The best way to learn is to play and watch games (you got the replay part do
ICO is down hopefully it will come back up soon.
Of the 2 listed games I would say it's closer to Starcraft 2 but runs at about 1/6 the speed at the fasted settings. If you want to try the game and see if you like it there is a demo you can download. There are some AAR's around somewhere if you run some searches you should find a few.
I agree that advent are the weakest race right now; however it is by no means impossible to win as them. My biggest problem with the advent is hull HP on their cap ships, while as Vasari and especially when TEC you can keep a cap ship in combat till its HP is low send it for repairs then send it to the combat again this strategy is almost worthless as Advent because repair platforms will only repair up to the max of hull HP making shield HP in this case worth less then hull. When you download the game you get the latest version; for soase they released the latest updates though impulse only.
I haven’t tested it but you might be able to make money on the black market if: 1. Player one is TEC with favored client discount 2. Player two does not have favored client discount 3. Both players have 0% upkeep 4. Player one buys metal or crystal 5. Player one gives me
Sadly I don't think that the player base is large enough for true pro games at least for 5v5 or 4v4. While there are a lot of decent players out there the chances of getting more then 4 top tier players online at the same time are slim let alone in the same game.
Here are a few 4v4 and 5v5 replays from games i played in the last month there is also a text file with a short description http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IBC353BQ
What exactly are you looking for? A standard 5v5 match? a 1v1 pro match? pro vs AI? a match with some pro build orders? a fun game to watch? If i think I have what you're looking for i will go though my recent replays and find a way of sending you the replay file.
In the last 2 days, in 3/4 of the games I played over ICO I got disconnected. I realize that with the size of the player base Stardock or Ironclad or whoever it is that runs the online servers may not think its worth putting much effort into maintaining them; but if this is the standard you go by then there are plenty of other games I can play.
