Thanks Zoomba! That was AWESOME! I'm currently in grad school to get a masters in counseling. Your article sounds strikingly similar to an actual class discussion recently. The scary part is in class the instructor and a majority of the students were serious. The discussion began when the instructor complained about how oppressive it was when people say "happy holidays". Anyway, thanks for the article to help put things in PROPER perspect

The idea may have been right, but once again Perdue's execution was terrible. Just like a few weeks ago when Gov Perdue announced "Don't panic we're not out of gas" and caused a run on gas (long lines, rationing, and many stations running out) once again Perdue showed total lack of foresight in his most recent debacle. Wait until the end of the day on Friday when all the kids are heading home and day cares are closing up and announce that schools wil

Well, looks like the shot for shot description I read was accurate. See it for yourself... http://batmanbegins.warnerbros.com/ Sets the mood/tone for the movie nicely. Let's see what fan reaction to this is.

Doh! Saw some bad press on Batman recently. The word is the Comic-Con panel was a major letdown. All the fans were disappointed that they didn't show up with 'the goods.' No video, no stills, not even Bats himself. That stinks. But there are rumors flying all over that we will be seeing a teaser soon (I've read a shot for shot description of the teaser. If that was indeed

Sounds like the IRC rooms have bad information. Or maybe they're just the same people who post in the talkbacks on AICN. I'll stick to the insiders I've followed for years and who have proved to be pretty reliable. I haven't seen Batman 5 on anything official either. That may be a WB thing, but Nolan clearly wants it known that this is a NEW Batman, not a continuation of th

Fans on message boards are already angry? Really? What boards? I've heard nothing but raves about the script, cast, shoot, etc. from sites like Aint It Cool News, Coming Soon, Coming Attractions, Super Hero Hype, etc. (I could go on). Also, I haven't seen anything that has this movie subtitled Batman 5. In an interview with Chris Nolan he talks specifically about why they chose to call it BEGINS to make sure everyone knows to ignore the fi

"While there's nothing wrong with being pragmatic, waiting generations to figure out "WHY" people are doing something is not all that great either, in my opinion. Ask the Irish." I agree, waiting generation to address motive is not an option. But that isn't what I said either. I said it would take generations to eliminate that motive. We've already started working on it by helping Iraqis get back in control of their own country. Opening di

Virtue vs. Freedom vs. Fairness I agree that there is value in virtue and in fairness, but to me it's a little less clear about the arrogance and relentlessness of Americans. We don't want to force Freedom on others at the sacrifice of Virtue and Fairness. Quite the contrary. We want everyone (I do believe it is an inalienable right) to have the freedom to choose the degree of virtue and fairness they want. Having virtue or fairness forced

The question "why" can really be put into perspective by using a legal analogy. To commit a crime, someone needs means, motive, and opportunity. The logical extension then is to say to prevent a crime you need to remove one or more of the components. Motive is an extremely complicated thing as Draginol describes. To fight motive in the case of Al-Qaeda, you use education, but it will take years, possibly generations to reverse the damage done by ra

Thanks for the post. I think it makes some good points. Prejudice does still exist just not as overtly as it used to be, I agree. I'd just like to point out that racism is not only a "white man's" disease (I don't think you were making that point). People of any race, religion, creed, gender, etc. can be prejudice. And any minority can be discriminated against, like a white person in an office full of black people for instance - I've seen that one

After OB2 comes out (can't wait for that, when do we get the alpha/beta) is it going to get a little more attention in SkinStudio? I recently created some skins (menu, tile task bar) for ObjectBar and Skinstudio wasn't real helpful. I went back to the old Dream (dreamcicle) theme to figure out what I needed. It wasn't hard to figure out looking at the old theme, but I did have some trouble finding things in SkinStudio. I'll keep working with it. M

Thanks. I really do believe God has blessed us with and through our son. But I'll expand on that more as I post about the progress he has made and what we've learned so far. Short story: he's doing great. Academically, he's one of the brightest in his class, and an excellent reader with a vocabulary almost 2 years ahead of his chronological age. His delays are mostly with processing and motor planning. Not to mention the assumed social delays.

I understand the point, but why do you think the minimalist skins are so popular? I don't think minimalist skins aren't original or artistic. It's just a different kind of art. For me personally, I like the minimalist skins because they're not distracting. I usually run something by essorant his designs are nice, simple, and classy. But, I also wouldn't try to force my preference on someone else. The more variety there is, the more different preferences are addressed. I think this may kin

I've leeched enough. I bought my subscription yesterday. I know I've downloaded enough to owe Stardock at least that much. To the people who use this site a LOT, don't have a subscription, and can afford one (there has to be 350 of you) please subscribe. Thanks
