That could prove extremely useful... Definitely a very good idea. I've never written anything of notable length, but I imagine at larger sizes the times would get extremely long...

True, guns would ruin the whole fantasy setting. I was merely wondering just how far it might get.
double post :P
In terms of lengthening gameplay, I think decreasing the need of rush expanding (IE your empire's standing is based entirely on your military and land area), and new empires rising on their own throughout the world, whether through rebellions, or in a leader arising in unclaimed regions. Just a thought.
I get the sense that the Fallen will probably have everything magic based, so late game you may see Steampunk meets Sauron... Could be wrong though.
The only true obejction I have to the art right now is the foliage. It looks like it was done in paint, with the exception of the pine trees (my apologies to whoever spent their time making it). Same thing with the rocks and boulders. They look incredbily flat and two dimensional, with little tecture. However, as it is early in development, and I have not even seen the game in motion, I can't say any of this for sure.
The game lists technology as one of the major pieces of the strategy. What I want to know is how far could it be advanced? Can it be taken as far as gunpowder, steam and machinery? Or just to the edges of what is traditionaly considered fantasy?
I would like a game where sheer size and population don't govern strength, much less another empire's likelyhood to attack you. One of the main reasons for a land rush is fear that somebody else will get those super useful reources, and the more land you have, the stronger you are.
The game concept looks very good, and knowing Stardock, I have no doubt that expanding upon it will be no doubt be a simple matter, making new conent come in nearly endless streams from the user base. My chief concern however are the graphics. They come across to me as being a bit cartoonish, or overly stylized and almost 2 dimensional (though through inspection of screenshots, I can tell that they are not). However, it is still extremely early in development, and you h
