I installed the game 2 nights ago and got about 3 hours in, I loved it. But now it won't start up again. I have the most current drivers, I rebooted, re-installed the game, all i get is a really quick popup window from steam, which i cant read cause it flashes on and off really quick. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I tried all the other games in my steam library and am not having this problem...

Howdy, I bought elemental when it came out, and never got around to playign it much, I kept waitign to see what the next patch wiill do, etc, and I lost tack of keeping track. I am wondering where I could find some good "how to play the game" posts, or a tutorial or 2. I would love to give this game a second go and would greatly appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
Is there a hotkey that lets you pop back to the default camera angle?
First, thank you for posting this for us to try. I am still seeing an underwhelming ammount of resources in this build. Tried several games to expore around and start over. I havent seen more than 2-4 total resources (including shards and the starting food resource) in a 30-40 hex radius around. Was wondering what the goal was with resources? Seems to bee way too few. I felel like it takes away from the motivationt to spread out and build.
Just so you know, I just started up a new game with the new 1.1c EXE that frogboy gave and near my first city there is a arcane temple, earth shard, horses, iron ore, farm and out of reach of my city but a prime spot for my second city is a lost temple. This is just from 2 minutes of exploring, actually not even two minutes so I would say that resources have been increased.
Hey blackrainZ, where would I get a hold of that v
Here's the thing...when a civilizatrion is rebuilding, people wouldnt go to a random spot of land and just decide to build a city. New villages and population centers get built near resources, or rivers or oceans at the very least to have easy access to those resources. This game is many things, but to me at its core its about reuilding a civilization. If there are no resources to go after, it takes a lot of the motivaion away to care about building.
I'd be curios to hear the debs weigh in on this. Also I really like the partially depleted resource idea.
Size might have an effect on it, but I am playing small maps. I'm also not crazy about restarting 10 times to finally find An ok start area.
Asa test, I've started up 4 games. all in small worlds, i havent seen more that 2-3 resouces period, and thats purly spreading out and expoiring hard core to try to cover as much ground as possible. I did think there was too many resources previously, but now it's the complete opposite, You have to build a city 20 moves away, to get 1 resource? Seems wrong.
HI all, i havent played since the original unpatchd release and I thought now is the time to give it a go again. I stated out in a small world, everythign on the default settings. There are no resources? I saw 2 fire shards pretty close to me, and fertile lad. Thats it. I explored for like 50 -60 turns and found one clay pit a good distance away. at that point my expolreres started to buy the farm and i had to start reterreating. <
so, does that mean they have it? I seleceted on of them iand in game its showin up in the character sheet.
I logged in and i was lookign forward to seeing the new loards and how they looked, i noticed a number of them still have "organized" I thought that trait was removed? Or at the very least, i cant select it.
I had several events happen all at once, and I did nto see where I am supposed to escort the noblewoman I agreed to help. How can I tell where I need to go?
I will admit, I am no expert on this game, but im tryign to learn. I have had quite a few games when I start them, myself and my opponents are literally right on top of each other. The last game i started, we were all so closley packed, I had ran into all my opponents in the first 10-15 turns of the game. Is therea settign I am missing in options? It just seems to me they would want to allow bpeople a little bit of space...just a thought.
Gotta say, the game needs some kind of guidance, or I think they could lose people who aren't willing to look in the forums for advice, the way I see it, for every 1 of us in here, there are ten or more people who wouldnt even think to look in the forums. I like the game, and it seems to have tremendous potential but as deep as it is, its got a huge learnign curve right now.
Are we not allowed to assign people to research tech? I can't select it. Is this intentional?
I see we can download this game soon? Where do I go to get it? I see people mentioning somthing calld impulse...what is that?
