OMFG! I just realised something on inspecting my add/remove programs I found an update for: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 then underneath in a sub column is something called Dr. Watson.. Which I installed from windows update on 9/12/07. two days later my problem arises. Coincidence? I think not. Should I uninstall, contact microsoft, is this my fault then guys? All I have done is downloaded an update from the Microsoft Update. Please guys ke
After looking at this: [link="http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/drwatson_overview.mspx?mfr=true"]WWW Link[/link] - I wondered - could I not just re-install another similar de-bugging program, that does the job - but better? What is your opinion?
Well, I'm no way ganna re-install windows... my dad would have a fit. I will try the TuneUp 2007. And I didn't mean 80 popups - I meant 80 Processes - sorry. I just did end process to all of them. Sometimes there aren't any popups, just the "loading" Cursor pops up, when I'm not doing anything and then I ctrl+alt+del and its got them going...
Yeah - 2004 had a trial too... I will see what I can do. It happened once last night - I tried just clicking "End Process" when about 80 popped up - it did the trick, at least I could then restart my computer properly without having to do it incorrectly. I uninstalled TuneUp now, I may give 2007 a go to see what it can do... what do you think?
Actaully I think tune-up utilities did this! It was 2004 version though I think... I did a registry cleanup and then the next day this started to happen - I did a system restore but :NOTSURE: ....
All kinds of things can cause errors....simply running a registry cleaner can do it if it cleans something it wasn't suppose to. But when all else fails and clean install will solve all your problems and it takes less time to do than this thread has.
Ok - Scan Complete - No Threats were detected. In a way quite annyoing - if
WF07, I'm not sure that disabling 'Error Reporting' will help you. I am no expert but all that will do will - to my simple mind - is stop the errors from coming up on your screen and not solve the actual problem on your system. If Yrag is around later he might have some ideas. I would certainly run both your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs too, to see if this picks something up. Sometimes it pays to run a couple of anti-spyware progs over your computer like Adaware and Spybo
HEY!!! OMFG - Was just doing a google search -found this guy with the same prob and this guy told him to do the exact thing you just told me! Cool. I just did it - put a restore point behind it though... of course. I just restarted and all seems well, although it can take a couple of minutes, hours or even days to start up. Thankyou for your help so far guys - much appreciated.
So am i going to have to remove Dr Watson? no - Dr Wat
Ok - So am i going to have to remove Dr Watson? I edited the registry once to turn it off, but then I couldnt open the registry because dr watson said no... so I had to do a system restore. Sometimes this event will not happen for a couple of days, then three or four times a day sometimes.. it seems to have no link whatsoever to what I am doing!
Could well be rogue files. Have a look at this WWW Link
Thanks for the fast reply. I am no computer whizz, so I don't understand much of what they were discussing, but It sounded as if the chap in question had a program called "the fall guy"??? I didn't quite get that... can someone maybe explain it to me slowly... as If I am a n00b (which I obviously am)... do I need a program called
Hi guys... I have a problem. Two or three times a day I get a message come up saying "Dr Watson post moretom debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close." and then It says "Ending Program - Click here to end now" , so I do, and then another one pops up. I ctrl alt del and theres 110 processes running saying dwwin.exe and drwts32.exe - all dr watson. Then I cant restart without pressing end now to 110 process (sometimes more). This happened a week and a half ago (start
