Quoting Lord Xia, reply 5 Ironeer women are pretty tough, I would hide behind them too. Just got an idea of a new picture thread. "Women you would hide behind."
Hee. I wish I could have taken a screen shot of the end game Sov picture for one game - female melee Sov clad in champions plate, riding a Capitar warhorse and wielding Curgens Hammer. I'd hide behind her any day :D
If you can post a screenshot of his detail screen, I'm sure that we could come up with a way to smash him to pieces at reasonable expense.
If he shows up again I will! Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I didn't save that game. I just remember all his stuff was red bordered armor, with multiple attributes and a wicked double-bitted battleaxe - also red with multiple attributes. Now that I think, he really reminded
These titans sound really scary, but what prevents you from holding them in place with Freeze/Tremor/Tornado and chipping at them with strategic spell?
That was my first attempt :D. I held him in place first with freeze and then tremor. Burned over 850 mana over multiple turns using the two flame strategic spells (can't remember the exact names - I didn't have Curgen's volcano or the starfall spell yet). He stayed still, right enough, but the attacks
CTRL+N!
Oh yeah. Believe me I seriously considered that. However, I was already at like turn 300+ and winning handily. It just seemed such a waste to restart. Plus I had already had the "Syndicate Responds" world event and wasted like 30 turns running my armies around my territory killing those yoyos so I guess I was kind of invested in the game at that point. :D

Although apparently a very rare event, I recently encountered (well, it wandered into my empire and started eating settlements) an Unearthed Titan. I think the Unearthed Titan only shows up after the "Unearthed" world event (which put some interesting resource nodes around like a multi-metal node). I found it exceptionally hard to kill. It is a walking nightmare - 205 hp, 50+ def, 91 att, high spell resist. Worse, it has fear, despair, blizzard, and a multi-strike (kinda like swipe, but

On MP: No thank you. I cringe when I hear multiplayer and "strategy" in the same sentence. Waay too many tradeoffs. One of the most long-awaited sequal/upgrades in the last two years - Starcraft Wings of Victory - had an amazing campaign but sandbox was terrible because the designers made the MP and sandbox equivalent (i.e., crushingly limited). And that was an RTS, a genre that lends itself very well to MP. I can't even envision a TBS with the scope of FE being multi

I seem to be doing something wrong (no surprise) when creating custom troop designs. I click on the upgrade shield thingy on weapons and armor, etc. during design process, but when I unlock new equipment and attempt to upgrade (having the requisite metal/$$/crystal/whatever), the design refuses to upgrade. Going back and "editing" the original design seems to make things worse - mages with spears appear in my army and all I wanted to do was go from 6 att fire staff to 12 attack hellfire

Although I occasionally play a fairly "skewed" version of the game (large, challenging, 1 faction, monsters/wildlands/champs, etc to max) because I love the RPG aspect more than a rather "mundane" 4X with fantasy elements, I find monsters can definitely eat the AI's lunch. I played through a game recently where I spent the entire game wondering where the AI faction had got to. You do run into them eventually, after all, even at these settings. After the game (master quest victory),
These things need to be adressed. Nerfing the city spam strategy just for the sake of doing it because a few vocal players don't like is exactly the wrong thing to do. If you nerf it or minimize spam for other reasons (i.e. to fit with the "cataclysmic" theme, then I can understand .. but in this case the "cataclysmic" theme needs to be underscored dramatically in a practical game-wise way that players can directly see while playin
Besides magic being needed to expand your realm, both 2 & 3 could be dealt with by having monster lairs that need to be cleared out. It would be especially good if they were near or on resources (or have quests that need to be completed before the resource and be used). And more valuable resources such as shards would have lairs with stronger monsters / harder quests. If monster lairs are included, the at a certain point (say when a player or AI move units too close) they could "ac

I agree with many here that city spamming is a turn-off. I vaguely remember a dev's pre-release video that explicitly stated city spamming was something he was trying to avoid. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible NOT to spam, since the AI does precisely that. I don't know how many times I've watched literally waves of AI pioneers streaming past my zones - even before I can set up choke points. The AI pioneers also seem to be immune to wandering monsters (IOW, unescorted). It's very
I've done this quest a dozen times, and this is the only result I've ever gotten. If there is more, I don't know what it is.
Yeah. Nothing seems to happen: no battle, no "go to next location" or whatever. However, the quest remains in the "active" list and the originating location icon remains on the map. Dunno...

I have been unable to complete the lvl 4 quest "Destiny's Tutor". After picking up the quest, the next location appears (sort of looks like a grave) normally (but un-highlighted). Moving my army onto the location simply makes it disappear. Am I missing something, or is the quest bugged? Thanks for your help.

I've experienced some of the same issues since I purchased the game. The best one was a 3d generation kid that had over 2500 mana. I thought it was hysterically funny (btw, that issue seems to have been fixed). I also had a couple of "baby" pics roaming around with the same name as the spouse - no complaints, they apparently "grew up" later and after a savegame reload, were normal. Kind of fun being able to recruit NPCs that were major channelers [e digicons][/e] On the subject
Bows and several spells are just plain broken in 1.08b. They are broken for the same reason. Not all spell and ability XMLs were rewritten to use the new (and better) format for damage and old savegames can not use the new system, either. Some spells (all fire spells, for instance) were properly updated. There is no need to verify or test this any further. The devs already know about it and repeating th

I am also experiencing the "first level spells are now useless" problem. Nothing hits. Just like yocm, I couldn't even burn down a stupid wolf. Added by edit: It's also air book that isn't working. Lightning Strike is now "make pretty flash and thunder but always miss" spell. :(
