No it wouldn't. Any ability is balanced as long as it is placed correctly. Judo Master would be a level 20 trait at the end of a long Path of the Monk. Show me an ability and I will show you balance. Meditation: Passing turn gives this unit +50 Spell Resistance for one action.
2) You want us to have multiple cities, fine. But we don't like cityspam. How are you going to keep the amount of cities "several" but not "as many as I can fit into the map"?
Prestige.
Anyone here up for some multiplayer? I would love to see if the desync issues have been fixed as claimed in the last update.
UbraAngel makes a terribly meaningless point. We are not mad because new influences drifted the games we loved. We are mad because EA took these franchises and crapped all over them with zero quality control. Go ahead and try to play C&C4. It is two games spliced together and neither well implemented because EA cut funding to both and then merged the teams, firing a few employees just before release and the whole rest of the team after. Great job. Burn in hell.
If this happens, I would like to offer some ideas on UI. The Quest system is very complex and needs to allow for many many objectives. I think I can offer a helpful perspective on this if it gets the green light.
I made the beta testers an epic Labyrinth quest, but no one has shown any interest. I will be keeping the other ones under lock and key until release. :P
In theory yes. Just copy an existing one and change the internal and display name. The only thing I am not 100% sure about is AI Intelligence. I think that is the time the AI will take to make decisions, but it may also be the research bonus. Given that Challenging is a totally fair AI, it would seem that it is not research.
I have long thought about making some weapon proficiency additions, but I don't think there is code for right now. I would take it further than this idea though. You should be able to get proficiencies in each weapon type, but be able to use any weapon you choose. A master swordsman would know what to do with an axe.
4. I have more fun in FE because I can alter the game to my will. MoM has some nostalgic hold, but the game is just not as interesting anymore. FE feels new and vibrant. There are always new boundaries to push and mods to test. I can't think of a better way to spend a day off. Of course my opinion is extremely subjective because I am not playing vanilla. Vanilla is probably a 3.
Civ IV had some great mechanics, but Civ III was a step in the right direction and was totally forgotten by Civ IV. The world doesn't end at the modern age. In fact, we are technically in the postmodern age IIRC. Sad to see Icarius get so close to the sun, only to later decide that no height exists above 10ft.
Find the CoreDifficultyLevels.xml in the Data/English folder in the game directory. It should have these basic tags: Challenging 1.0 0 1.0 1.0 <AISovereignHP
Okay, I'll get more specific in the other post that Steve made. It is actually in the CoreDifficultyLevels.xml file. [e digicons][/e]
Go to ElementalDefs.xml and search for Difficulty. That section determines the difficulty of the vanilla choices. AI sees through FoW is a tag set to 0 or 1. 1 means it can and 0 means it can't. This is a huge bonus for the AI and I think the vanilla settings only allow it to do so on Ridiculous.
I create my own difficulty and name it Hard: AI sees through FoW. +10% Gildar for AI. Max AI factor. AI Sov gets 50% Hp boost. AI units get standard HP. AI uses magic. Allowing the AI to see the whole map from turn one is crucial for good AI as this stage. If you are at all capable, even on Normal, you should allow the AI to do so. The scouting function is not yet complete and the scout spell is a lame duck still. Th
Still waiting on a Genetic and Diamond Age mod. Those were the best eras and CivIII is still the best Civ. Not sure why they discarded the best parts of that game. Different dev team I guess.
That opens up so many cool abilities. Judo Master: When unit passes turn he gets +100 Dodge and 10 Counterattacks.
I heard they are taking out cities and making it an FPS. How is that for an interesting choice?
EA killed Command and Conquer. For that there is no retribution. Burn Burn Burn Burn! [e digicons]:D[/e]
I love a good Hun invasion.
This conversation is not productive. Pirates are merely presenting excuses to rationalizing their misdeeds. You can argue and debate this for the next six pages and we will get nowhere. It happens all the time on the forums so let's just drop it and talk about the OP.
Thanks for the info pirate. Looks like I will be giving those rapists my money.
Does the AI play the game well now? That is all I ever really cared about.
I get about 40% better performance from gameboostering.
I use a text editor and copy paste stuff.
Me too. Very quick and fewer errors.
The mines issues seems like one of distribution, not production amount. I would keep things at their current resource production levels and have a lower distribution of those mines. The metal costs for late game weapons and armor could also be increased. If we are having fewer iron and crystal mines, how about a few more gold mines? They are far too rare I think.
