I like this idea alot. Would be a nice addition to Influence.

I forgot about the difficulty setting thing. What tag in the difficulty setting is upping the aggression? Will setting the world difficulty lower and the faction difficulty lower make monsters easier and factions harder?
Thanks guys. The point is to show the devs how many people have problems with the current state so they can decide if it is a priority to fix before release. Interesting viewpoints so far.
That is kind of what I was thinking. The best solution would be to decrease taxes so that companies can expand, hire, increase GDP. Then raise them incrementally once profits on average are up until a balance is reached that can repay the deficit and keep things moving along. But can our government do that?
Please all vote in my monster poll. I want to get a clear number of people who have a major problem with monster AI. I am assuming it will be 100% of beta testers.
I'll go first. 1. Yes. It is not clear to me how or why a monster acts. I am thus incapable of planning a way to deal with them. 2. Yes. There are too many Dragons and other powerful monsters that should be anywhere on the map until later in the game. 3. No. It seems to harass them too, but I can't see their cities most of the time, so how do I know. 4. Yes. A powerful endgame monster will rand
I really want to make sure the beta testers don't sign off on a game that people don't want to play. To that end, let's take a quick poll on how people feel about their interactions with monsters and the AI factions' interactions with monsters. Please give me a yes or no answer and then explain why. You don't need to have proof. The point is how it seems to the player when they play the game. That is crucial for new players. I will tally in the OP he
Okay, I'll start a poll to see how people feel about monster interaction. That should at least show if there is a problem in the eyes of testers.
Hey Brad, one thing I have seriously been wondering is how about the competing lines of rhetoric about taxes strangling business growth and the wonder years of Clinton. What were your profits like in the years of the boom when taxes were much higher than they are now? Is it that we are in a systematic problem where revenue is down, so you now rely on less taxes to fund projects as opposed to the sales you had back then? Would and increase in sales from economic recovery allow for taxes to be
I bet you can do it. I would first try having the level 3 fortress cityhub (called Cityhub3_Fortress) in the improvements xml add a resource to your city. You can make it produce 10 or so "Awesome Knights of Zantor." That resource would be used for every soldier in the unit you train of the special unit you want. You would need to make the unit and set it up just like the trained monsters we have. It's a little more complicated to actually make the unit. There are some tags you will want
I would say at best Obama didn't screw anything major up. These days that is a passing grade. It's the evil you know. After all, we don't want unemployment to go above 8%. That number decides the whole fate of the country! (Satire there at the end) It is sad that journalism is not more objective. I for one like hearing the perspective of such a CEO on the economy and believe it or not, his opinion sways my opinion just as much as any other person's. The real
Polish is a metaphor from making a car. It is the last minute detail to the exterior and is the main thing the customer sees. It is Balance, UI, Graphics, Bugs, Pacing and Fun. Making sure all of these things are as good as they can be is generally what boosts the metascore. I would put AI on the list, but too many games have gotten into the top 95% with terrible AI by comparison to FE.
On a side note, my mod is tough in the beginning this strategy is pretty useless. If you don't start building immediately you will fall behind and since you need midgame techs to even think about capturing cities, there is no rush from slaves. But they do provide a nice meat shield for Lord Magnar, who starts with a fire throwing magical staff.
Getting back to the OP, wouldn't it be cool if we lived in a society where the perspective of a powerful businessman could be expressed in a public forum and discussed and debated. I would call it a democracy. Not sure what we have. Maybe a mediacracy? A partisancracy? Ragecracy? People like David here should be free to tell people how taxes are affecting their business. I would also like it if people that are benefiting from social programs could respond and we co
The only fix I see is adding about 60 labor to each slave and reducing their penalty as a slave to make up the cost.
It's hard to argue for a situation when you have 20 cities. Just let them idle and finish the game already. Most people and reviewers will be playing on smaller maps where this is not ever going to be an issue. Features that support large games like that seem to be set for after release when they optimize for that scale of game.
No, it happens to people speaking to you online via TEXT who have no idea what your tone of voice is.
At the end I defined my voice by saying, " How's that for satire?" I was trying to keep things light, but this is admittedly impossible on the internets. My point is that both candidates are not to be trusted, liked, or believed in, unless you have taken an oath to do
You could so much easier make a custom map with better balance. No matter what you add to the starting position, the map can screw you afterwards.
Sweet. Can't wait to see the new changes!
Warrior Temple grants +2 levels, +4 init to defending units and gives all trained units the Bloodthirsty trait
Can we get the Bloodthirsty attack bonus to show up on the attack damage tooltip?
You missed the subtext of my satire friend. It happens to partisan people. Right now both presidential candidates are claiming to do the exact same thing, everything. They always promise us everything and then do whatever their paying constituents want when they are elected. Fortunately, Americans have the memory of a smart goldfish. I have take to writing their promises down. It makes for a fun drinking game every election. BTW, Romney, today, is claiming to lower inco
I see it differently. Wonders are not so much works of engineering as they are groups of people with the old knowledge. By developing your empire you can attract them to settle in one of your cities. But you must expend some diplomatic capital and reconstruct the buildings of old. It is not so much the building as it is the people. The reason you must compete is because there is only a small number of these people that have survived the Cataclysm. That is my personal lore, but i
Why would the president matter in any of this? Both sides are claiming to reduce taxes for the lowest incomes and keep taxes the same for larger companies. Are you saying I shouldn't believe them? I should be surprised when in a year the dimension where Obama is elected taxes go up for everyone? Are you saying I should be flabbergasted when the dimension where Romney wins ends up decreasing taxes for everyone and inflating the deficit? I choose to believe the safe and happy prop
Okay, but the people saying the AI/game is too easy are hardcore players. You only represent a very small minority of players. I am one of the hardcore players and have been making a mod just for you guys. So we can play at a much higher difficulty with a much more aggressive AI and almost all the content features anyone asks me to add, like a full RPG leveling system. The vanilla game is just not quite aimed at you guys. Modding is going to be the only way to satisfy people like us.
Gee if you guys keep taking the content out of my mod I am going to have nothing left.
