I say the penguin wins in my book. I would have chosen robot, but there is no soviet insignia, so how do I know if it is a killer robot? [e digicons]:hrmph:[/e]

So many typos... Did you know that back in olden days trees were cut down and fashioned into boats within one season? If the army sizes are less than 100, I don't see a problem with them being able to craft transports in a week or two. That leaves 3 months to travel at sea. Since it would be made of local resources, it shouldn't cost much of anything. A professional navy would be something to research further. Faster speeds and weapons would
Maybe he got cancer from the AI and is now in the hospital. [e digicons]:'([/e]
Please god lock this thread.
If Muhammad cannot go to the mountain, the mountain must come to Muhammad. Likewise, in WoM if Muhammad cannot go across the water, the mountain must be put in the water until you can cross.
Well I blame the fox girl for devolving this thread into a conversation about anime. You knew that being attractive and cool would destroy any hope of a light hearted thread about Halloween devs! Well if they don't have a resurrection spell, you can always cast death ward on the really important heroes.
I think Tac AI is the 1% we are hoping towards.
I forgot that you can bring them back. That is a big relief.
True enough. I just wanted to point out the gray. I am getting a little worried about how discontent is handled. If the tax base is the only factor, steamrolling is possible with a good economy. Maybe the 50% of population that is wiped out when you conquer a town represents those that might have revolted. But then will cities lose levels and buildings that are at that level? Kind of a problem if a level 5 city gets to keep all the benefits while losing like 300 people. For that
I can't believe you are still updating this close to beta. Kudos.
Well played. [e digicons]B)[/e]
"If the Nazis don't qualify as a perfect example of human evil, then I don't know what does." Is that what we learned from WWII? In my book the evil side is the one that slaughters millions of innocent people. That puts America at the top of the list. Next would be Russia and after that Germany. Dresden and Hiroshima were much greater travesties than anything the Nazis did. Evil is an empire that puts any goal above human life. America is by far the worst.
Sins is the best space RTS available. Try playing on larger maps.
*The French and American Revolutions were part of the industrial era. *Rome fell apart largely due to factionalism, lack of a unified nation, among many other factors. It is fine to talk about the abstract concepts that cropped up in WWII, but I am noticing alot of people making comparisons that don't correlate to the era this game takes place in. It is a good notion that magic can in some ways take the place of technology, but some concepts are just beyond even the
It is rather unrealistic to assume anything about WWII is comparable to this fantasy game. It would be more useful to talk about Napoleon's attempt. There was little nationhood before the industrial era. To peasants, one King was as good as any other as long as there was gruel and water on the table. Taking over a city should have economic costs initially, but it is both unrealistic and bad for gameplay to have rebellion past the level they have already implemented. Taking
If you though being beaten down by those trolls was annoying, just wait until people comment on the visuals. [e digicons];)[/e] I really like what I see. Looks very much like a good beta. I am concerned about people assassinating the AI's heroes now, but I would need beta to test that.
That sounds nice. The party I went to made me take a drink every time I talked about video games...
Where do you work? I am certain it's not Microsoft. They build their employees gaming rigs for their desks.
Maybe change up the AI scouting so that it leaves scouts at the edge of its influence. Problem solved.
I couldn't party with Stardockians. I would be the geek in the corner that won't stop talking about the game. You guys probably hate talking about work, while your work is our play.
We can, as always, write our own flavor.
While I had already suggested flying monkeys, you bring up an interesting point: what about the world creatures? Making defense too strong will cause expansion into new territory too easy.
I wouldn't mind steamrolling in the late game. It makes sense and is actually something one would expect in war. Magic is of course the best defense to something as mundane as that. This is where we need that tornado spell. There should be a number of late game methods of preventing steamrolling. Defense technology and spell research would be the primary solution I would guess. Once again I need to see the beta to really have any idea. In the early game logistics should prev
I would rather have Steam than Impulse at this point. My how things have changed...
