I think Brad said something about the number of impatient posts delaying beta for that user.
Nope... if people don't like FE, it's going to be the last game they make.
He said that if he is not satisfied. I don't think he is using popular opinion to make that decision.
Wait a second, you had the babies after college? How did you take college before high school? [e digicons]:)[/e]
I am a little confused and have no interest in this off topic conversation. Move it along long hairs! Now back to the preview, when could we expect to see this on our proverbial front doors? Will it be after the holiday? Just as a joke you should make SDC available for download via steam and origin. [e digicons]:D[/e]
I would like to see the way heroes work in the beta. The only game breaking element will be a total loss of spells if your heroes die. If I am attacking the AI, I would always target their heroes at the beginning of the war, holding mine back until they can no longer use any magic. I don't care how this problem is solved, but it could ruin the magic system if not kept in check.
The cloth map would certainly benefit from this idea. It would be nice for the user to be able to add text in areas to give some personalization to each game. Naming rivers, mountains, and valleys would make exploring so much more immersive. Unfortunately in WoM the font was so large that every city name would be partially covered by the city and anything over seven letters would just muck up the rest of the map. It would be a pretty big thing to add for the mere sake of immersi
Attach electrodes to that man's chest! I should be project manager. I really know how to motivate people. [e digicons]:jafo:[/e]
I trust they are starting with a small group to perfect the beta process before it is too big. We will just have to trust their judgement. It's not like we first beta testers are going to get to make game changing decisions. We will probably just be dealing with crashes and map generation issues. Oh man, my therapist is going to have his work cut out for him dealing with my new sense of entitlement.
I think there is an insane dodge spell. Or maybe he is ninja class.
Does the bill say anything about making sure your game doesn't freeze all the time? I understand it is hard for PC games to work on all the different configurations, but console gaming is getting worse at every release. Mortal Kombat is a prime example of a great game that is just never going to be playable for more than 30min due to constant freezing. A game that works is just so much more valuable than a game that that freezes. Maybe there should be a continuity rating on games
I think traits should be coupled. Each positive trait should have a negative one that you would have a chance of getting on death. A simpler solution that would be quickly adopted.
I think the update is a good idea. What it needs now is popular support in the form of all gamers agreeing not to buy a product until the company agrees to follow the bill. A Gamers Guild would go a long ways towards solving some of the capitalistic evils in letting corporations make our videogames.
Disciples II was a great game as was HoMM. It sucks to see so many wonderful games have inferior sequels. The real problem is this ridiculous push towards 3D rendering. Maybe if they kept the graphics simple, they could focus on adding something to these games, instead of taking away the best parts. I am glad to see I am not alone in my disappointment.
Get the After the War mod from the mods section. It balances the spells and fixes many other problems. Also, don't bother with campaign, it is not well done and is very different from the actual game.
So I just got Magic VI after avoiding the title for awhile. I have found it to mostly be a cheap, less immersive version of Disciples III, which is a much better game. It has a perfectly logical Tactical AI using a hex tile, whereas Magic VI used a square tile system that is constantly cheesed. Disciples has much better graphics and art design, unit variety and advancement, hero mechanics, and music and dialog. Might and Magic spelled Svetlana wrong. [e digicons]:t
I have been working on a tile model for Le Mont St. Michelle that will make a nice wild land.
Hey you bought WoM knowing that it got terrible reviews by the fans and professionals. The 1.4 version is definitely worth what you paid and you were expecting more, then that was you own personal delusion. How is that unfair? The discounts and free copies are for people who were promised something else and got what we got. FE is a much larger project, and it will be a much better game, but you will still probably want to wait till it comes out to buy it. You might eve
Thanks, I thought those were just pictures. [e digicons]:omg:[/e]
They don't work like that. Think of them more as quest areas. I love those massive statues. The art is really coming along nicely.
This thread has devolved into constructive analysis and warm feelings. Where are the fanboys? Where are the snide remarks? Where are the comparisons between the first game and this one? Where is that drawing Heavenfall posted awhile back with the three levels of Elder Scrolls reactions? I am just so disappointed in this thread. You guys need to shrink up. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
So now we are just making stuff up? Very well, if you hold ctrl and push F, all attacks will go into cinematic mode.
Maybe there could be a vampire with a soul? Or perhaps a girl, chosen to fight against the darkness? There are plenty of great ideas out there just waiting to be stolen. How about using the standard farmer shtick, only the farmer is actually an alien raised by farmers. They found him in a meteorite, soon realizing that this realm's sun gives him unnatural powers. There is nothing wrong with a little tongue in cheek. [e digicons]:)[/e]
I just can't imagine playing this game with a controller. Are there any vampires in this version?
That is a nice map mod. Where can I download that?
They should differentiate them by calling this one Stardock Central: Modern Download
