I have been testing hero levels with modding the variables. It would seem there needs to be more XP earned before leveling.

You are only supposed to lose half the population from taking a city. If you are getting 0 it is a bug and should be posted. I have to admit that I am so bloodthirsty lately I have not bothered to look before razing a city. [e digicons]}:)[/e]
In WoM late beta we had tiles that would get attributes, like hills with +25%. If you can add defense percentages in this game, you can add pretty much anything. The parts I don't know about FE are how a tactical map is chosen. I know it picks one that is similar to your surroundings and can even give you a special one in wildlands. I want to make a few mock ups of swamp with movement and defense penalties and the like. IMO you should note while playing that finding a ti
Or maybe if you set it to +4 and +1 per Airshard, the number of shards would increase and scale to fit the map. There is an option to increase shards, but I haven't messed with it. The funny thing is, I was on the other side of this argument a few months ago, until The Black Knight convinced me it was a problem. [e digicons]X|[/e]
It would be much easier to talk about balance and test variables if I could play for every faction. I could city spam for Gilden, turtle one city for Altar, tech up magic for Pariden, and have a balanced strategy for Tarth all in the same game. This would make testing so much easier. I notice that Frogboy seems to have some special functions and abilities when he tests. I wonder if it would be at all possible to let us of lesser gods do the same. If this can work, we are only a
GalCiv is awesome. Any version of it is just wonderful IMHO. I prefer a single player game with good AI. That is my opinion and I have my reasons. But the reason don't matter as I don't care to persuade anyone. The point is that FE is fun. It is SP. Elemental: TBD might just have MP. That will be fine. I hope all of the 100,000 people that every MP fan seems to know will buy that version of the game. I would like to find some time to play some CoOp with them. I would r
A great way to make diplomatic capital very good for weaker nations. Great idea! Also could be more variety than just bandits i.e. dragonkind and beastmasters, but let's start with the basics. [e digicons][/e]
Almost everyone would agree that it is way OP. The others probably don't use it in their playstyle. Not calling it teleport is confusing. Even if the AI could use it, it would be a bad game mechanic. But if it costed a huge amount of mana (200-500) and was a level 5 spell, that might make it a good spell. You would still need to teach the AI how to use it. Never seen it done right or even passably well. It seems like a headache and a half. I think Cloudwalk should be
This is probably the most crucial aspect of the core game. In theory it seems very well thought out. I am done playing with leveling choices so maybe i will try out a medium map on challenging with four cities to start. I usually only have one until it reaches level 5. Letting a city get to level 5 right away lets you build some pretty sweet improvements and the science levels are really good. I notice that money is a bit of a crunch (Only 14 Gildar/Turn). Having to kill for sil
@PoPsuX So maybe we will see some of those winter mods come out for FE?
Ah the Monk thread. A herpes of sorts for RPG forums. There is a bigger thread from a while back that has some hilarious Lord Xia comments in it. Just search Monk. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Well, you make some good points about things to put in tactical battles to make them sparkle with polished fun. I wouldn't say the current battles are boring. I find them immensely fun and we don't even have a good AI for them yet. Elevation seems like something that will easily be possible. The map is designed around having versatile terrain, so why couldn't there be a hill with a bonus to defense and accuracy? Tiles do absolutely need bonuses and p
I have already post there. [e digicons]*_*[/e]
Same here, but with Great Mill.
I would go for heroes getting an injury over dying. Maybe a bell curve distribution where dying is the worst thing that happens, but on the other end is only getting a scratch, or even getting tougher if you really freaking luck out. Brawler trait- You get beat down in nearly every fight, as a result you can really take a punch. (+1 Constitution) Dead trait- You died cause your sovereign was tired of reviving you after every single battle. (Dead) [e digicons]:O[/
@Mtrixis, You seem to play on a larger scale. How would you characterize building units with several cities as opposed to a few? I would hope that there will be some sort of benefit to having a small nation so that city sprawl is a strategic choice, rather than a necessity. Or do you only use heroes?
Zamul, what about this? https://forums.elementalgame.com/415634
My plan would be mutually exclusive. If yo turn your Inn into a Guild Hall, it can't also be a bed n' Breakfast, but it can later become a Guild HQ or maybe you get lucky and upgrade it to The Hall of Champions from a citylevelup.
I too am confused by this. Maybe if the resource was double if built within a city?
If you want a high level city you need to have 4 grain, 5 is better. Cities with less can still reach level 3 or 4 with some improvements. Those smaller cities can still produce good units and help your economy. If you only want level 5 cities, you have to plan for it. How many cities do you have?
From a dev perspective it would be easier to just have one improvement that you can upgrade. Combining all those improvements into one would mean alot of extra work.
I would rather you not be able to take the loot without fighting the monsters. Why not have a stationary force for each lair and lets spawns to the roaming?
I agree. He or she was defeated and must suffer the consequence.
Remember when you lost half your planets to those damn terrorists and had to fight a whole civil war amongst any current wars yo had going on? That is how I would like to play this game; with a hidden army at my rear to counter any uprisings. It's my own fault for trusting those damn Cossacks.
