The Map of Elemental is not in the current build, as it is larger then a Large map, I am hoping to update it to FE standards and get it out in a future build or DLC, 4 or the stock maps are derived from the world map however. I love that people are modding the UI already, one of the best aspects of the Dxpack system is how simple it is to make changes like this. Evan simple scripting is supported.
You can get new assets in with anything that will export to Havok, i believe there are several free ways to do this, you might need a dill from us, but we will make sure its available. I am hoping to do a few tutorial videos on using the tile designer and the map editor, once the game is out the door, you will be shocked what you can do with just the stuff in the game already. I am on a regular basis, and i am the primary tile designer ;)

If you are just replacing the PNG, you need to make sure there is not a DDS of the same name, as the game will use the DDS if it is avalible. Since on some systems it can improve performance. You can also give old items away, to NPC's our even trained units. This can be helpful. You can all sell items that you do not have equipped. However this is not to say we you should not be able to trash items.

No one is sitting around making dancing monsters, this is a exporting error. We just hat to video it because it was so willed. Normally exporting error end up with crazy mutants.
Im hoping to get one more pass at the UI of the particle workshop, before it gets into the hands of user, at the moment is very "Designed by engineers", however that dose not stop it form being awesome.
I have the same issue on one of my systems, if you go into your pref.ini file and change to Fullscreen=0 you should be able to run in a window, it also tends to work if you set your game to run full screen but at your monitors native resolutions. We are looking into this as we speak.

Life and Death magic are two sides of the same coin so to speak, The Sovereign of you race is a channeler, and his nature determines the nature of the “the 5 th mana” If he/she is good then it si what we would call “Life” mana, if he/she is evil that it becomes what is called “Death Mana” but is all drawn from the same source, which is easiest to just call Life.
Once you have the tech, you can build a settlement that is just the outpost, and what ever, so you could have A Wizzards tower, with a small settlement around it.
Not that Elemental will work on anything, but we have not even begun to optimize video performance. I have a Intel setup on my laptop so I will be pushing right along with you to get it supported.
Currently, there are plans to have 12 official factions, 6 kingdom, 6 empire. But you will be able to play up to 32 in a game, and create as many as you like. The truth is there is not theoretical cap, in a large game, by the time kingdoms start to break up in to vassaldoms, etc, it could get quite high. Since you will be able to create new factions using the same tools we use, you should be able to have quite a variety of to choose from.
The above sample, posted by Jonny is a different set entirely, the second one is with no HDR at all, you would get that on very low end video cards. The issue brought up in brads post, is separate.
