For future reference, would attaching Process Monitor to the Elemental process and submitting a trace be useful?
Started a game using the AutoSave of the above game, continued on for quite a while, then g ot multiple Out of Memory Errors p o p p<span id="_mce_start" st
Impulse is not related to Elemental other than as the download manager. But thanks for sending the data. This is extremely helpful.
Doh! Impulse is listed directly above elemental in Process Explorer, and darn it, I grabbed the wrong properties sheet without realizing it. Too late now :(
I did get an actual "Out of Memory" error. Files below: Debug.err, Prefs.ini, DXDiag.txt (zipped) Elemental-generated Crash Dump Screenshot: <img src="http://home.comcast.net/~lukefencejumper/elementalbeta/1z4_OOM.JPG" alt="Out of Memory Error" width="1704" hei
Just finished a quick test using beta 1Z4, selecting the option to leave peacefully now seems to work the way I would expect it to. (Pop-up goes away, and my soveriegn moves out of the opponent's territory)
First turn of game crash after executing the following actions: Create town Set Research to Civilization Grab goodie bag Set move destination for soveriegn to next goodie bag Clicked the greyed-out turn button debug.err <a title="Prefs.ini" href="http://home.comcast.net/~lukefencejumper/elementalbeta/Pref
I experienced the same problem in Beta 1Z3, walking into another sovereign's teritory gets me stuck in a loop. Does the option to "Leave your lands peacefully" require a certain Diplomacy tech to be researched or some other pre-requisite?
The site to submit crash reports wants me to login. It didn't use to do that.
Same here... Hopefully it's a minor issue, I found fogbugz to be easier to use than posting a forum topic.

I thought I'd start a thread about question pertaining to FogBugz. http://fogbugz.stardock.com/default.asp?pg=pgPublicEdit My first question is: For the field marked "Computer", what information (specifically) should we enter?
Sovereign/Offspring Editor: We know we'll be able to customize the looks of our Sovereigns when we start a new game, but, it would be cool to have that interface available to be able to customize our Sovereign's offspring or heroes the same way when they join us or are born.
Yes! A common grip in GalCiv2 was the inability to change the color of your race (or other races). To
I'm still wishing I could get Jing's photo-hosting working without having to pay for it. It's a great program, if they could just get the hosting side more reliable.
Here's a mock-up, I wasn't able to get Jing to host the image, so I'm doing it the old-fashioned way:
Kryo - Specifics for improving the interface: If there is a pop-up notification, don't let it block relevent information behind it. Possible solutions: Have the screen camera center on the event, but have the pop-up notification appear on the left-hand side of the screen so we can see what's going on. Allow pop-up notifactions to be draggable windows - allow us to move the windows out of the way to see Allow pop-u
GalCiv2 bugs me no end when it tells me about events somewhere. First it centers the map on the event, then it puts the message in the middle of the screen so I can't see where the event occurred anyway. So far EWoM seems similar. How about putting the message on the left side of the screen, and centering the event on the map in the right side, so we can see what its talking about?
Amen! Or, alternatively
The selection of tiles has been improved in our internal build. However, I agree it might be nice to have this as an option. We'll see.
An option would be wonderful! Especially for us older folks who can't afford new glasses. Always clicking the wrong darn thing...
Great post Wintersong. @Frogboy: How about being able to change how our Sovereign looks? Hair length and color, color of robes and armor, that kind of thing. Aesthetics.
I think that would be great, and would attract more female gamers as well.
* Really wishing they would re-impement watched threads feature to the forums
ROTFL Brad! Great post! I'll forward the info to my bank's fraud department if my PC doesn't blow up.
+ Added code to propertybucket and xmlutil to handle 64 bit integers (if you're interested)
So, there is a 64-bit version of Elemental?
This would be a VERY welcome addition! I had always hoped they would add something like this to GalCiv2.
This only happens to me in FireFox, not Internet Explorer, opposite of what Charvel1 claims. In any case, this has been an issue for over a year in the GalCiv2 forums. Stardock's web/forum design team always seems to have their hands full taking care of the multitude of Stardock sites. I'm sure it's on their list of things to fix. There was an official bug-reporting thread for forum/website issues, I'll see if I can find it. Edit Here it is: <
