Yes, but.... 1) no mention of the alliance in the treaty box (and no expiration of 99 years as stated in the game) 2) allies don't ask for help when attacked as stated in the game 3) why would expire in one turn? Doesn't seem WAI. If the intent of alliances is to permanently lock a faction to peace for the rest of the game with no other features, then I suppose the in-game descriptions are completely wrong. </

Does anyone know why my alliance with a faction is "cancelled" on the turn immediately after forging said alliance? The game still shows me as an ally, but I never get asked to declare war on their behalf, etc. I tested it with four different factions and every single time the alliance was cancelled the next turn.

The endless wars in this game (and overall tepid diplomacy in general) limits my enjoyment of the middle and late phases of the game. I'm not sure the best way to overcome this but I would like to see it addressed.

[quote who="Kantok" reply="9" id="3266013"]No, they're awesome as is. Yithril is one of the only factions that I care about when they're on the map. Yithril & their Juggernauts are an example of faction differentiation done right. You see white borders on the map and you think "Holy shit, that's a problem because they have these big insanely strong monsters that are going to kick my ass". Juggernauts are Yithril's identity. People care. &

This is a bit long -- I apologize. Standard disclaimer: I love this game. It has been wonderful to see the staggering progress made from each successive version. Kudos to Stardock for making this wonderful game. That being said, I feel the OP. For a game that has all the trappings of a civ-builder set in a fantasy world, this game plays more like a wargame much of the time. I've learned the painful lesson that military power is everything when

Does the AI ever make peace? Every game I play, once the AI declares war (against me or the other AI) it seems to be war forever. And, if you have seen the AI make peace, is there a notification of it like the notification when factions go to war? Too many times a faction will be fighting a 4 front war which leads to their undoing.

Something that's always bothered me since the days of Elemental: why can't I threaten the AI with war unless they pay me X gold? If the AI is able to do this, why aren't we given this option as well? If there is a way to do this that I just don't see, please enlighten me.

I've been getting consistent crashes since ~1.09p; before that I had a stable gaming experience. http://filebin.ca/bjcb/debug.err http://filebin.ca/vtchor/Elemental1_09t-2010-12-11T20-04-00-834.zip
