Agree with all above. - Its dom-III style but can be done better than the bare-bones scripting possible in dominions. BTW, in a way its also, somewhat, Kohan style, though in Kohan you could only script the AI (as a whole) and the system was less flexible. Scripting or configuration should be made easier and persistent. Meaning you could create (or import) unit profiles and then when setting your army just choose the appropriate profiles. So you'd create something like

I have played dominions I, II and III. All are great games if what you're looking for are depth, replayability and charm. Yes, charm, the game has all those little touches and details that make it unique. The game also have a very friendly and lively MP community. Now, since these are exactly the things I look for in a game I do think dominions III is an awesome game. Those are here that are not familiar with it should definetly check out its demo. (But hey HBadger sa

I suggest that not all races share the same economic and possibly miltary model. For example, I suggest that not all races use gold for recruiting and shards for mana in the same manner. Undead race should have less use of gold for recruiting armies and more use for other kind of resorces (zombies, graveyards, whatever). A scritly military order could have little or no use of magic to be compensated by strong miltary machine. And so on and so forth. Thi

That can be solved by allowing the players to configure or script their armies for the automatic battles. I'm not talking about an elaborate mechanism for specifying every single unit step but something more along the lines of: Some examples -> Archers, Move to withing range and fire at enemy archers for X rounds, if enemy infantery/cavalry is closer then Y then retreat behind melee units. -> Mage, Buff your self; Cast evocation spells at enemy fl
Quoting vieuxchat, reply 18Devs said in another thread that it would be simultaneous turns. As I understand the Impulse hosted games it will be sort of PBEM then, you just don't send your turn as email attachment but via Impulse / from within the game. Where is that thread? I couldn't find it :/
If it will allow multiple players to take their turns at a schedule to their liking (24h,48h etc

Being as this is a TBS game lends itself towards makeing the support for PBEM straightforward. One thing that must happen for PBEM to be possible is that the game support also a non-human-controlled tactical battles. i.e that it would be posisble for the AI to manage the player's armies in battles. Of course the game can support it in a primitive level or in a sophisticated manner with "smart", "configurable" and "adaptable" AI. Being as AI is one of the strong points of stard

I'm in on all account except 8, for the same reasons Tiavals mentioned. I also like Tiavals idea about race choice. I think it would be neat if distinct choices would have

Hey, if you are interested you can check out the forums of dominions community to get a feel of how PBEM contributes to create a different type of games. Such that can involve anything between 8-60 (and more probably) players at a time. All viying for world domination in games that can last many months. Just imagine huge armies of mighty empires backed by dozens of mages duking it out, th

Like AOW. Like Dominions, I think elemental would be all that much awesome if it would support play by email as well. This, actually will target to non-heavy gamers amongst the fans. Those who can't afford to be online for 3-6h at a time in order to compelte a game. It will also allow for a slower paced, more caclulated epic games.

Played MOM for many years, then the AOWs, then the DOMs. I'm looking forward to this game (already pre-ordered). I hope it will be influenced to some degree by the three game worlds mentioned above but in the same time become its own game and sport unique features.
