there should be no such thing as a tech victory! it's been disposed of (replaced) in TBL. Chances are you'll only be able to achieve this "replacement" victory through the "replacement" for ascension crystals....this victory makes explosions! [e digicons]}:)[/e]

I found the bug using the "divide and conquer" method. It had to do with tech requirements in the soon to be dismantled weapons branch...My Lord! that tech tree's going to be huge!! (requiring a reworking of the tech screen) At this point, it's around the same size as a stock tree...only half it's half written at this point...the rest...or at least the rest of what's already been thought up! Have a good weekend! -Dave

like i said, those problems were taken care of. It just has to be the tree anyway because any race that uses it (custom or stock) causes a game crash when used by the player (it works for the AI oddly)

i fixed all of those minor problems and some others, but to no avail. It still crashes. The latest development in the "case" is that it works when i use one of the default races that hasn't yet been replaced. It only crashes when using my races.

editing the dxpacks will not help. since whatever object you add does not have a hardcoded name, it will not be used by the game. Instead, it'll just be an empty box like the one shown in the dxpack. There's only so much you can do when editing dxpacks ;) Technically, you could just make a ton of races and then create a map that uses all of them. -Dave

for the most part, you don't really need to add tags to the techs themselves (besides maybe willingnesstotrade). What you really have to do is add these tags at the top: [code="xml"] &

go to the race selection screen, choose your race and go to the appearance tab. in that tab there is a button that says 'create custom shipstyle' or something like that and click on it to choose templates to add to the style and you're done. To create templates, just go to the ship designer and when you create the ship, click save as template. -Dave

although cypher is working on the story, we could still use other writers to help him with that and maybe to write descriptions for techs, improvements etc. we are also still recruiting for all of the other jobs mentioned in the body post. -Dave
