Oh man. Has anyone else played this game? It's a truly awesome 4X/TBS/RPG from 1995. I've been playing it for a while now, and it's really fun. If Elemental turns out to be a more advanced version of this game with better graphics, then it'll be the best game ever. Because, you see, the graphics aren't that great . The non-deluxe version can be downloaded for free <a h

there's a lot of griping about "unimportant" pop-ups Who says it has to be a popup? There could just be a small notice sliding in at the top o the screen, and then sliding out again after a few seconds. Then you could check the details in a calendar.

It would be plain awesome if your population celebrated the birthdays of your heroes. Especially the dead ones, if they killed a lot of enemies.

Something like that would be nice, but it would have to be restricted in some way. For example: If you start a game on the largest map possible, wanting to play a VERY long game, then an armageddon spell such as the flooding spell would be incredibly overpowered and ending the game sooner than you want to. Sure, you could disable armageddon spells for that particular game, but on the other hand, you might want to cast one of those spells yourself. Let's say you play as an undead kind of

Well, my idea isn't really about bonuses to the city, but the creation of artifacts. Dissolving a hero into a city wouldn't accomplish that.

Just like my idea about landscapes, this idea has its "roots" in Civilization. In Civ, there is a small chance that a "great person" will be born in one of your cities. For example Da Vinci, Michelangelo and others. These people give a significant boost to one of the cities' attributes, like culture, science and so on. What I think would be really cool, would be to tie this together with the item creation that I've heard is supposed to be in the game. Lets say "Zamul t

One thing that I would really like to see in this game is a varied landscape mechanic that gives certain units an advantage over others in different places. For example, if you have some rangers and you send them into the forest, they should move much faster, and deal more damage, than for example a large war-wagon which would most likely get stuck. This would give you a reason to create different kinds of units, rather than just spamming "the ultimate unit of *insert cool word*" over and ove

Great idea. In games like, say, Red Alert, your units have 3 ranks that they can advance through. It would be awesome if Elemental had a similar "promotion system", where the highest rank would mean that your character turns in to a hero. Of course it has to be a VERY large gap between the highest military rank and the hero rank, so that you'll get somewhere around 2 heroes per game. It would be awesome if you could then name the hero, or at least give him a rank. Kinda like "Zamul of

O_O This looks absolutely amazing! I'm even thinking about pre-ordering it right now! (Something which I've never done before in my whole life...) I absolutely love the graphics, simple but beautiful. And I'm sure Stardock will do a great job with gameplay, as always.
