I had a similar problem this evening and your post seems the closest to my error. I'd be at the 'connecting to server screen,' (the one before the lobby screen in your screenshot), and when I'd click on the conneciton info button I'd watch as one by one I connected to everyone in the room. Only problem was that after connecting to everyone it wouldn't bring me to the game lobby at all. I'd just sit there looking at myself connected anyone. Happened with friends
Without getting into full detail on all of them, we actually did have the income rates on the upper right last beta but we ran out of room when we needed to switch over to the fleet communication system - we are still trying to figure out how to get them in there aside from just hovering over the asset. If you do put the income rates back up there, I think it's important that it be an option. People like me like having lots of information at our fingert
