Last night I tried to download the 1.19 patch, and I got the above error when it came to actually extracting it. So I just uninstalled the game and redownloaded it, hoping this will fix the error, but I got exactly the same issue. I've just checked the temporary folder, and I see a 1.91Gb elemental1.19[b].123.impulse file there, so its downloaded fine, but Impulse doesn't seem to be able to extract it?

There is no way anybody could have an informed opinion this early in the game's life.[/quote] I was under the impression that most game companies sent off review copies of their games off before the game was even released? That way the magasines can print reviews and build up hype, so people can say 'look, it got 100% in PC Gamer, lets go buy it!'
The total ammount of RAM you have in a system isn't going to be all that relevant. A 32-bit process can only access 2Gb of ram. Its possible to make the program large address aware, which would allow it to use up to 3Gb of RAM, though this would also require an addition to the boot.ini files on systems running XP 32. However, this all depends on if this is a memory leak, or if the textures are simply so large that they are using up all the RAM. If its a leak, then this

Dear god, yes! It needs a tutorial! People saying 'watch the video tutorials' or 'check the forums', no! When I play a game, I would like the game to teach me how to play, not have to check websites in order to learn. The game was telling me that I should build a farm, I don't see it in the build page, I don't see it with my farmer selected, so I just forget about it. Come back to the forums, as I like to check them out anyway, and suddenly I know how to build a farm. </

Yes, I'm in the beta and have been for months. I've been in the beta on my PC, and just got a new laptop. I've installed Impulse, and several games, but not Elemental. I tried archiving it, and restoring the archive on my laptop. It restored fine, and is installed on my laptop. I can 'detect application' on the folder, and it says it will now appear in my games list. But it doesn't. I've tried restarting Impulse, and its still not there. Running elemental.exe loads the
Yeah, just popped in to update the thread. Restart didn't fix it, but a reinstall did. Got all the C++ prompts again, and its all working great now, thanks!
As title, really. Double click the game in Impulse, and the 'play count' figure goes up, but that's all that happens. I'd tried disabling my firewall, but that d
