[quote who="RisingLegend" reply="169" id="2584222"] I want simplicity, yet depth. As I ramble, this is what I really want. This is what dwarf fortress lacks. It has complexity and depth. If we get to a place where things are simple, yet there is great depth then this game will be great. Its extremely hard for simplicity and depth to coexist. What we can agree on is that we want depth in this game. As soon as you focus on making the game "simple enough"

The game I've played wherein every turn mattered the most was Twilight Imperium, by far. It's a board game, and a rather long one at that. It's somewhat rare to play any more than eight turns, but everyone is composed of several rounds where every player gets a chance to activate a system (it's a sci-fi game) and perform a variety of actions in it. What makes every round in that game as important as it is is two things; first of all, at the end of every turn, victory points are calculated (th
That's a really good idea! Will give you the opportunity to give your empire a kind of mythic quality, with such exotic blood flowing in their veins :)
First of all: I heartily support not having to constantly modify my units or feel that if I just wait for five or ten turns, I'll be almost at a new, better one. I suggest what has been said earlier: Make essential and non-essential gear. Essential gear is the weapons, armor and basic boots. Non-essential is potions, Koladia Leaves, all that stuff. The non-essential gear is churned out at a rate which you can see somewhere. For example, every 2 turns, there's a Potion of Valor ready.
I managed to make it work by changing the selection to full-screen.
Same problem. Debug here.
Beta 0.24 A1 Really weird map. Not only did the fertile lands disappear after I alt-tabbed, this was also one of the areas: The map shows the 'photoshop brush' coastline in a bunch of places, including one where a river ends in half a square of that. Map Random Seed: 1254472638 Debug here.
I have that very same problem. My debug.err is here.
Not quite sure, actually. I believe I did, on at least two occasions. Anyway, they respawned instantly, from the very place I killed them, which I haven't experienced before, even when I in other games didn't kill their nests.

When you've died in the game, hit escape, enter the main menu from there and start a new game, the graphics crash and burn. It all goes fine until the map has to be loaded up, after which there is simply nothing. A white cloud instead of a map. The interface was there, but not the map nor any other graphic representation whatsoever. The debug file ( http://pastebin.com/f80a18b6 ) seems to disagree with the graphics.
In my latest game, the random monsters respawn constantly. The Debug.err file ( http://pastebin.com/f43e818ad ) looks like this: DebugMessage: ValidateDevice::Reset DebugMessage: ValidateDevice::Reset DebugMessage: ValidateDevice::Reset DebugMessage: ValidateDevice::Reset DebugMessage: ValidateDevice::Reset DebugMessage: ValidateDevice::R
I think it looks like you weren't supposed to be able to, but I wouldn't be surprised if some tech or something made it possible eventually. Changed the title, btw :)
It is possible to build a town in the forest. This seems unintentional, seems every tile in the town is unusable. It looks like this: Inside town, though, it looks like so:
Oh, thanks a lot :) It works now, thanks :)
Hi. I have a stupid problem. I just now pre-ordered and wanted to get into the beta, but I can't find the download in Impulse anywhere. Has the beta closed, or am I just stupid? :)
