PUG Voice chat is LOL. You'll have some 13 year old who sounds like his voice can break glass screaming at his team mates "OMFG WHY DIDN'T YOU HEAL ME YOU BUNCH OF F'N NOOBS" ... "YOU GUYS SUCK ZOMG MY MOTHER COULD PLAY BETTER THEN YOU" - Screaming 13 year old then Rage quits, followed by his team mates conceding... just like any other PUG except with txt chat no one had to hear his annoying Shrills.
I'd argue for a "Squelch/Mute Player" option in-game to minimize the p
High sim, no doubles. so its something like 2v2[US][Pre][ 5 sim]
It's not bulletproof; unless everybody starts using those abbreviations, a lot of people are going to have no idea what "nq", "nd", or even "Pre" mean. Or "Premade", for that matter. I play premade games on Ventrilo with mehoo462; we put "Premade" in the title of our custom games. Two of our last four games, I'
This is only tangentially related to ragequitting, but: if we're adding a Team Concede vote, what about a global Return to Lobby vote? I would imagine this primarily for Pantheon/Skirmish games, though it could easily apply to Custom games as well; if a person lags out at the beginning, or drops, or ragequits at the first kill, or the players don't like the automatched teams or the presence of AIs, someone could initiate a Return to Lobby vote. If the vote passes with a majority
Here's another 3v2 that seems to have nothing to do with player experience levels: http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/640896/player/51277/ When two members of the team of 3 have each played more games than the players on the team of 2 combined, something really wonky is going on. It was like clubbing baby seals; I gave it a shot, but I'm nowhere good enough to face those odds;
ehe... gripeline... how about .
How many h's is that? Sounds hard to type . . . :)
This is why we need replays. Assuming, for the sake of argument, that stats/connectivity issues are ironed out: if I'm playing a Pantheon game and somebody does this to me, I will likely lose. (Assuming that the exploiter has worked out a method of reducing his/her risk while performing the exploit, and can therefore maximize its effectiveness.) I don't have a lot of other options: * I can vote to concede. Probably what's going to happen, in any case;
Since I play Sedna a lot, the thought of having to get most my gold from minions (or even kills) makes me grimmise; if only I got some gold/xp/favor for healing.
What if you got "assist" credit for buffing a teammate who goes on to kill an enemy DG (in the next 30s or something?) TF2 has something similar, where the Medic class gets an assist point for healing somebody who then gets a kill . . . this would give Sedna/QoT/Oak another reason to use Heal/Bramble Shie
Also, I was aware of the alt-tab bug. And yet, I alt-tabbed out of force of habit . Because other games don't crash when you alt-tab . Is that an unreasonable expectation? That the game won't crash when you interact with it in a completely normal way?
This. Admittedly, Demigod isn't the only game to have issues alt-tabbing; Source-engine games used to crash hard (though they now simply hang for several m
I was the "one of them gets a fatal error" guy mentioned above. I alt-tabbed again to change Ventrilo channels since we weren't playing with knardi anymore, and the host started the game while I was alt-tabbed. Around the same time, I got an Unhandled Exception popup box and my game crashed. Other issues encountered: my own personal issue where someone can connect to me but I can't ever connect back to them (I've never seen "proxied" after my name while playing DG), and a
I disagree with your assertion that tactical behavior (such as flanking and ambushes), item purchases, and tower upgrades have no effect on the game as it now stands. Even on Crucible, the opportunity exists to perform a wide variety of tactical behaviors, including but not limited to: leaving the lane to capture an opponent's flag, causing them to divert their attention; baiting a Demigod forward by appearing weak so that your partner can appear and crush them; teleporting behind an
Quick question: are the Demigods on the same teams every Pantheon tournament? Or do their Light/Dark allegiances get reshuffled from time to time? The latter would reinforce the "arbitrary blood sport" nature of what lore does exist . . .
I'm curious to hear what people think about a potential Hybrid Oak build; one that focuses on Penitence (for anti-DG abilities) and relies on minions to boost DG damage? The build foregoes Shield and Last Stand, and postpones Surge of Faith, to pump both Penitence and Raise Dead. Divine Justice gets 1-2 points, and Soul Power gets 1. I tend to put my last few points into Minion boosts and Divine Justice to gain benefit from the brutal Surge of Faith / Divine Justice creep-
Whenever I bite with erebus I automatically stop attacking my target and re target something else. Whenever I use an item while running like wand of speed, my demigod stops running turns around and immediatly auto attacks someone. This can be bad while running away
+1. When I'm chasing another Demigod and I trigger Wand of Speed to run them down, it would be nice for my DG to resume running after the Wand of Spee
Kol x6 Dunov x4 Javelis x375
So, uh . . . what do you do when the massed fighters and bombers show up? :)
Agreed. I like the fact that ICO chat got a facelift, and that people in chat can now message people in-game; kudos to IC for that development. But with the loss of color-coding and default targets, the barrier to using the in-game chat for in-game purposes--such as diplomacy--is higher now.
So, if I understand correctly, you can now buy an unbounded amount of metal+crystal @ 300, and sell an unbounded amount of metal+crystal to the market @ 100? And while crashes and booms and fluctuations change this, this behavior is generally the default? And if I understand correctly, this means that TEC players with lots of trade ports are going to be throwing credits at the market like candy for metal and crystal, whereas Vasari will be hard-pressed to get much money from their neut
Which brings us to the next point: population upgrade.Yes it takes a while to pay off. In the beginning there are very few options to increase your income however.Actually there are only two!
I'm sick and tired of explaining this to you guys, especially with all the experience I have maybe you should just trust the experienced players that ALL know this.
Innociv, please stop trying to shut down discussions on this forum with your brand of aggressive elitism. Now that patch 1.03 is out, is it possible to connect to ICO when you're still running version 1.02? I've got a saved game with a couple friends that we want to finish tonight, but we don't want to patch to 1.03 or the save game will probably break.
You can buy 100 crystal and build a capital ship that has the ability to colonize.
Sure you could; and that's a perfectly viable plan. But if you want to build anything but a colony capship for your first capship, or if you want to buy a different ability for it at level 1, it's colony frigate buying time. Also, a number of the competitive 1v1 players like having a colony frigate anyway if they're playing TEC or Advent so that they can capture neutral ext
If you buy 200 crystal at the start of the game, you can immediately queue up: * Your population upgrade. * Your capital ship factory. * A colony frigate. I believe that you end up using only 125 extra crystal (rather than 200), but that's not a denomination in which you can buy materials, so 200 it is. :) Note that you can queue up all of these things before your crystal extractor comes online; at this point in the game, you're making 0 crystal/sec, and getting the
Question #1: Are 1.02 saves incompatible with the new patch? Question #2: If so, is it possible to play on ICO with a group of friends, all of whom have 1.02, without patching to 1.03? We've got a saved game that needs finishing . . . :(
ok, so you don't like temporary price fixing....TEMPORARY! we all understand the issue, not sure why you had to restate it.
Just thought I'd summarize some of the arguments so far, since the thread seemed to be drifting off topic in the direction of whose build rocks and whose build sucks and who should learn to play, which I think is worthless. No aggression was intended. I understand I'm taking a weirdly extreme position against price fixing; but I feel that
Will, we don't mean the Market should be locked, we mean the PRICES should be locked for a brief time. That way no one is penalized for what they want to buy...within 30 seconds or so when the market starts fluctuating, everyone should already have what they want for their chosen start.
Actually, I'm against price-fixing in the early game. Why? Because the idea behind the market is that as more people want metal and crystal, the price of metal and crystal should go up;
press tab after pressing enter.
QFT. You can also use SHIFT+TAB to cycle backwards through the available chat targets (Allies, specific players, etc.) It works pretty much exactly the same as selecting and tabbing through components of a fleet in the Empire Tree; pretty clever, actually. . . . I believe it also remembers the last group you sent messages to, and picks that target by default when you press enter again.
