Thanks for the honest feedback. I played at release and got a refund--it certainly wasn't worth $40 then. Sounds like it still has a ways to go.

For those who wondered about the process, I pre-ordered the digital download the day before it was released, so I'm lucky in that I have no box to send back. I assume they'll just cut off my access to the game or something from Impulse and refund my CC. I emailed both sales and support in the same email, said that I had already posted some crash logs to tech support and asked for a refund. Within 1 business day they got back to me and were friendly about it. From l
refunds can be issues up to 90 days after purchase, according to their policy at https://store.stardock.com/policy.aspx I'll check in periodically to see how they game is improving (and I'm on the Stardock's email list, which is how I heard about the game in the first place). Unfortunately, time is tight right now, so if I have time to game, it's going to be spent on a more complete (and stable) gaming experience. <
Sharing a good experience I just had with Stardock customer service. I asked for a refund on Friday, they got back to me today (1 business day), no arguments, full refund processed within 3 days. Not only was it prompt service, but it's incredibly hard to get refunds in the entertainment software world. Some of you might remember that there used to be places like Gamestop that would permit you to return PC games within 30 days, but rampant piracy has long ended that

I hear ya. Seems like an interesting and deep game if it wasn't behaving weirdly and has loads of technical issues. I know the designers put a lot of effort and thought into this, and have made some great games, but this doesn't seem anywhere near ready for release.

Not sure what other details/logs I need to provide that will help resolve the issue. The error is sometimes a DX error, other times "Elemental has stopped working" kind of error. Are we not meant to tab-out of the game, ever?
